this week in unintentionally grim-sounding recruiting headlines
So rivals Seattle and Portland played in some tournament.
Seattle had a dude dismissed with a second yellow. Then another guy was shown a straight red for an elbow.
This Dempsey did this (see embed below):
Seattle finished the game with 7 men (a couple injuries and all subs used).
This change could never have occurred under Harbaugh, so I'm sure Alex Boone is smiling. Interesting how rather than trying to improve young player attention span, or heavens, demand full attention for the huge dollars they pay, the 49'ers assume they can't handle meetings longer than 30 minutes. This is actually kind of an insult rather than accomodation.
On the other hand, I wish my work meetings had 30 minute limits so maybe this is ahead of the curve...
Episode 10 is here. The Lannisters are on the ropes. Arya might be able to cross out a name on her Kill Bill list. The Mother of dragons is now a dragon rider. Jon Snow has his hands full with the crows and wildlings. Stannis is officially persona non grata. Enjoy!
KILL THE MASTERS!

Slated to start at 5:34 pm but the US women are still playing the women's final vs Mexico (up 45-0 at the half). The men's match will start shortly after the women finish.
Apparently the loser of the men's final can still qualify for the Olympics by winning a 16 nation tounrnament later in the year.
For all the MGoSoccer fans out there, the USA U-20 team takes on Serbia in the World Cup quarterfinals at 12:30 tonight on FS1.
These games have been really late/early in the morning since the tournament is in New Zealand, so i'll happily take a 12:30am kickoff on a Saturday night. Exciting to see the future of US soccer with this squad.
