Just to pass the time. So you can spend a day with any one person on earth. Who would it be and why? Let me throw in a few rules to eliminate the obvious. Keep it to 3 options, you do not get to have any form of adult situations with them. No religous figures, and to keep it interesting, if you choose someone from history, your day would be spent in their era. I'll start;
Jimi Hendrix at Woodstock - Would have loved to have been at Woodstock and who better to be there with then one of the greatest musicians ever
Jesse James - Love the old west, and would have loved the outlaw lifestyle
Anybody that was at the Roswell crash site that night - I need to know man
This concept has sorta gone viral this week (there's another series of issues that obviously takes much more precedence, but they are outside the scope of this blog). People are recounting the earliest news they can remember.
Today, I've seen a few people on twitter discussing the earliest sports moment they can remember. For reference, there was a thread in 2010 on the blog asking for earliest Michigan FB memories. It was a while ago, and only Michigan Football related. This is a bit wider.
It's Friday, it's July, it's time for this thread. What is your earliest sports memory?
The first datable sports memory I have was Kirk Gibson's bottom-of-the-8th home run in Game 5 of the '84 series. My family was watching it at another family's house on an old, small color tv. I gather people were going rather bananas, but my memory is vague. Still, I remember it.
A close second was the '85 Michigan-Iowa game.
My 11 year old daughter has a golf tournament today. She is getting ridiculously good. In some of her tournaments she is allowed to have a caddy, and in some she has to carry her own bag. I so often have to work and miss her rounds, but today I get to caddy for her, and see every shot. It's 3:30 in the morning, and I can't sleep because I'm so excited! I've cleaned her clubs, been over every hole online, and have her bag filled with balls, tees, water, ball markers, divot repair, band aids, range finder, towels, granola, etc.. My favorite thing in the world is to watch her stick a 9 iron to 6 feet from 125 out! What do you attack with an Enthusiasm Unknown to Mankind?
