(per mgoboard's policy, i'll try to make this post as apolitical as possible.)
michael moore, after years of sporting a spartan cap, please take the block "M" hat off. i'd much much much prefer it if you weren't in our bandwagon. thank you.

The Columbus Dispatch is reporting that the lawyer who contacted Tressel was former-OSU walk-on Chris Cicero, whose time at OSU overlapped with Tressl's time as an assistant at OSU. Cicero, apparently, has a history of unethical conduct, which is not remotely surprising as he probably should not have been talking to Tressel in the first place.
There are a lot of ways to interpret this information. But even if we take Tressel's word that his concern was for maintaining confidentiality, it appears that Tressel chose to keep quiet to protect his former player at the expense of the institution and with clear disregard for the rules. Now, while this is in some way understandable from a personal standpoint, it is completely indfensible from a professional one.
My condo association here in Chicago is voting on if we should become FHA certified or not. I know there are quite a few smart fiancial minds on this board and any help anyone can provide as to pros and/or cons of FHA certification would be greatly appreciated.
If we're going Paczki well, dammit, I'm going King Cake...
Anyone else order King Cakes (thanks Farmington Bakery!) or have Mardi Gras plans? Anyone? Bueller?
First year away from all the madness in quite some time and am trying my damndest not to slip into a great green, yellow and purple depression...
It's Paczki day in Metro Detroit and all cities with a substantial Polish population... how many are you going to eat today? What is your favorite flavor? New Martha Washington or New Palace Bakery? Will you go see the Polish Muslims perform tonight in Hamtramck?
I'm on #2 right now and this when I feel worst about my (self) imposed exile from the Great Lake State... the paczki from anyplace except Hamtramck just don't taste the same (but at least in SW Ohio, they can still spell 'paczki' and don't just try and pass off regular jelly doughnuts)
When I was at U of M, I used to wake up at 4a on Paczki Day, drive down to Hamtramck and get 2-3 dozen to bring back from my morning class on that day along with a box for the ChemE and AOSS admin offices.. later that evening, we'd go to Old Town Tavern and give them Polka music to play to rest of the evening... it was a good time.
Any MGoBloggers suggest good paczki places in non-metro Detroit locations for the readers of the board? Chicago? Pittsburgh? Buffalo? Milwaukee? I scoured lists of bakeries in Boston one time for a buddy who was living there and found him a single place with real paczki... it was a hour long subway ride out to Chestnut Hill, but he was happy.
