“He was on the other side of the court, screaming: ‘Good shot, Kev!’” Durant said, shaking his head in delight. “I’m thinking, this guy’s an All-American type of teammate right there.”
Well, my surgery went off without a hitch last Wednesday, 9hour operation because it was a sixtuple bypass. Go Big or Go home. Just wanted to thank everyone for the prayers and well wishes. I have been home since yesterday afternoon and each day is better. Go Blue.
I've been debating the merits of switching from cable/satellite to streaming video from the web. The Roku box is designed to do this (click here for Roku site). For a one time fee, you hook up this box and can stream or access TV on demand. The Roku site advertises many free stations, but their website is terrible in terms of giving actual information.
What would I get for free stations that have actual value?
My biggest fear is that I will miss many Michigan games. I do not see the BTN To Go listed on their channels. I do see ESPN listed as a free channel. Has anyone here braved the risk of missing large swaths of the football season to save $80 a month in TV utilities? Though at $80 a month, I could theoretically go to the bar for 12 games and still save money by not paying subscription fees to DirecTV.
It does not seem like most network channels have jumped into this for live broadcasting. I'd like to know if anyone out there has a Roku box, and how it actually works.
BAM! The board has a new tagline, or at least new to me as of today. Perhaps it arrived from the deep South along with Nuss. Can't remember all the previous ones, but this one is a real recipe for success in 2014.
We have had a lot of Posbang threads but it's Friday.
As a fatalist (and a soviet), you all are making me VERY uncomfortable with your 2014 bally hoo'ing. It is well established that whenever anything good is happening, we all need to be even more dilligently looking around for the other shoe to fall. It's the only civilized way to live.
So please, take your 2014 success like a soviet; ignore it and wait for the world to fall apart.
Since it's the offseason, we can welcome more OT.
Brian mentioned in a recent mailbag that he played Skyrim:
I finally broke down and played Skyrim. Do not do this. Skyrim is the kind of awful that only reveals itself after you've set 60 hours of your life on fire listening to boring conversations and dully hacking things in the face. Their open world is beautiful and soulless, shiny on the outside but hollow in the center. Bethesda's mechanics are hopeless broken in every single game they make, and while being able to jump across a continent in Morrowind was charmingly broken, Skyrim's mechanics invite you to a dull, iron-dagger-laden trudge through one moronically designed UI after another.
I recently got Skyrim and started playing it two days ago, and was wondering what you guys thought. Good or bad?
So far in my opinion it's not as good as Fallout 3 from an introduction/understanding-the-world standpoint, but my complaints are not the same as Brian's complaints about the mechanics.
Also, let's try to keep this as spoiler-free as possible in case people haven't played the game and might be considering it.
