further adventures in Jed York being unsuited for his position
MSU has canceled classes for tomorrow due to snowpocalypse which should be beginning soon. As a student of UofM with a 9AM class tomorrow I am all for classes being canceled here too. Please snow gods don't fail me now I'm not doing my homework just to ensure it.
Haven't seen this referred to on the board, but the guys at The Onion have started a half hour TV sports news show which completely skewers ESPN style sports coverage, with made up stories such as this one, where Gary Bettman stages his own kidnapping as a way to get more coverage for "his hockey TV program." Hilarious, its on 10:30 p.m. every Tuesday on Comedy Central.
So here's the deal. I have a speech due to present tomorrow for my composition class and I am writing it on how the NCAA should pay, or at least give a stipend to its student-athletes. My reason for posting here is to ask for additional suggestions or reasons as to why student-athletes should be paid.
The only reason I know I will use is the most obvious one, that universities and colleges make millions off of some players in exchange for paying for a comparably small fee for tuition, room and board.
My first thought on who I could talk to for more suggestions was this blog, so anyone have anything for me?
Long story, but to summarize:
I had a root canal, went in a couple weeks ago to have it prepped for a crown. The dentist was worried at first cuz there is a crack in the tooth, but after working on it he figured it was salvageable and he put some kind of rubber stuff around the gum line and temporarily capped it to get the crown in a couple weeks.
I was chewing something a couple minutes ago and the entire top of my tooth came off. Now it's a nub about 1/4 inch (totally guesstimating that). No pain, and it's all sealed up.
Is there any salvaging this, or is it gone?
The week of the malware disaster ends. Weekend -- rejoice!
