"I am insane. I am childish. I once drank an entire bottle of wine while watching Michigan and God's favored child Denard Robinson lose in Ohio Stadium to an undefeated Ohio State team BANNED FROM BOWL COMPETITION FYI JUST WANTED TO MENTION THAT FOR NO REASON."
It's clothes, people. Friggin... AHG! Nike makes clothes. Adidas makes clothes. I have never had an article of clothing from either of these companies fail to meet the requirements to which I held it, which were, "Cover my ugly body up." The jerseys are Maize and Blue in either case. The designs are acceptable in either case. The corporate logos are secondary in size and location to the rest of the design in either case. Wearing one or the other brand is not going to cause our teams to perform any better, nor make your fat ass any more attractive when you wear the year's latest sideline polo.
To sum up: Nobody cares what you think about clothing manufacturers, and I'm tired of having it interjected into the middle of half the threads I open.
A plug from the president of the DC-area Alumni Association chapter (a good friend of mine)...
For those living in the DC area and are members of the Alumni Association, the annual Congressional Breakfast event set to occur next Wed March 30 will feature, among others, Mary Sue and Dave Brandon. Dave Brandon was a late and recent addition to the lineup, so I urge all members in the area to attend and support our local scholarship fund, and get some inside info on the athletic department at the same time. He will be mingling and working the room, so you will be able to have good access for questions and conversation with him. There is an ongoing silent auction in conjunction with the breakfast that ANYONE can participate in (again, all proceeds to our scholarship fund). Link:
I live right up the road. If I go I'll post pictures. The article has 3 pretty good ones already. Neat story about the guy who spent a lot of time tracking her. Beautiful animal.
To alleviate concerns: if the Park Ranger starts in about how tough an animal a Wolverine is, I won't be fooled into silence. I'll immediately hit the Ranger with a series of stats comparing this Wolverine to previous last known living Wolverines: Tree yardage climbed per hour, total flesh pounds mutilated, and foot miles traveled the second half of the day. None of that "toughness" peeled grape stuff for me.
As a junior in high school, I have recently been recieving lots of mail from colleges. I throw most of it out, but when I saw that I got mail from OSU I decided that it deserved special treatment.
So as I sit here watching my Bulls absolutely dominate the Hawks, I was thinking about Joakim Noah. Who I HATED while he was at Florida. I was pissed the Bulls drafted him, thought he sucked... and somehow in year 3 he dragged me in. I like Noah. I like his awful hair, hideousness, and jerk demeanor.
Simmons' classic example of this is Lambier. Someone who I LOATHE as a Bulls fan... but would probably love if he was on my team.
How do you deal with players you hate going to your teams? Are you a Browns fan - did you cheer Brady Quinn when he was drafted even though as M fans we know it's all yackety sax? Can you root for OSU players in the pros? (not that there have been too many great ones recently) Any packers fans out there with AJ Hawk jerseys? I love the Bears and hate the packers, but love Woodson, and am conflicted there.
Who are your biggest conundrums as fans? How do you rationalize the Love/Hate?
It was a nice night tonight, so I decided to mosey on over to Ann Arbor for a bit of a walk and some pictures. I was gonna try to get some of the other Kahn buildings that I didn't get last time since I would have plenty of sun this time. Anyways.....
This particular post was actually posted from Ann Arbor.
Nobody was playing with it though
Not a Kahn building but still pretty cool.
Also not a Kahn building...but still pretty cool. I have other pictures of the law school on my blog.
This is a Kahn building....and pretty cool.
Since it was brighter this time.
Not quite the whole building...
STill bright enough
This was probably the main reason I decided to revisit buildings from last time.
My camera automatically takes pictures of this....wierd.
One I didn't get last time.....I don't like it as much as some of the other Kahn buildings...not quite as ornate.
A bunch of buildings.
Some personal history
Some country's flag
And my last of the night.
I realize there are a ton of other Kahn buildings on campus I need to visit. Eventually I will get them. Now that it is staying brighter later, this is a little easier.
