at least it's not just us?
Feeling down over the game? All our rivals winning the Big Ten? Coaching uncertainty making you a sad panda? POS-BANG to make you, and others, feel better. Do it early, do it often, do something to make yourself, and someone else, smile.
(Edit: to see if it makes it appear on the MGoBoard too).
I was on a flight this morning wearing my Michigan alumni gear sitting right next to a Buckeye, and we had a very nice conversation the entire flight. It makes me think we all might know at least one tolerable buckeye. I remember we did this with State week, but in the spirit of Thanksgiving, do you have buckeyes close to you that you enjoy their company?
I have close family friends that treat me like their second daughter. I avoid them one week a year.
GO BLUE! BEAT OSU!
MODS: feel free to delete if this clogs up the board. Just thought it'd be nice for the holiday.
So as we are in the midst of M-OSU week, folks tend to break out their gear in support at work and around town. It's been nice for me living in OH (Cincinnati, so it's not too bad as there is a fairly decent support for M here and a good minority of disgust for OSU since it dominates Univ. of Cincinnati) and seeing the Maize and Blue around town.
Whenever I see it, I normally throw out a "Go Blue!". That got me thinking though if this is what others use as a standard greeting to their fellow Wolverines that they don't know or if folks have other salutations or gestures (such as 'Hail' fist pump).
The UM Club of Cleveland is presenting a reception and program with David Brandon tonight. Anyone else going to this event?
Mary Sue Coleman will serve as president of U-M for an additional two years beyond her current appointment, extending her contract through July 2014. The Board of Regents approved the extension at its meeting today.
The two-year extension is effective July 31, 2012, when her second five-year contract was set to expire. Coleman was appointed to her first five-year term in 2002.
“I am excited and honored to continue serving the University of Michigan. As I have said many times, I have the best job in the world,” Coleman said. “I deeply appreciate the board’s confidence in extending the opportunity to lead this remarkable university. Together, we have made tremendous progress as an institution these past several years. And we have done so in particularly challenging economic times.
“I am proud of the hard work, innovation and dedication of so many members of our community who believe in the university and the essential contributions we make in today’s world,” she added. “I want to continue that momentum.”
Congrats to MSC and well done to the Regents. She's an outstanding leader for the University of Michigan and the state of Michigan as a whole.
Wire came across that the relief pitcher for the Rangers, who played 59 innings, beats out A-Jax for Rookie of the Year. Complete and utter bullshit. The grind of 162 games and impressively consistent production is far more valuable. Shit. When does spring training start?
