I have that shirt too. If there was Rivals250 for College Hockey, Werenski would be top 5 overall. Big get for the D corps.
Very interesting read.
Very interesting to see how close Michigan came to having a women's team in the 90s. There's even a quote from DB on the prospects of adding women's hockey.
A little fluff reading for the hockey fans around here. Arizona St AD Ray Anderson discusses with ASU's SBNation site the possibility of bringing D1 hockey (amongst other sports) to Tempe. ASU is one of the blue-bloods of ACHA (club) hockey and boasts having 11 players on their roster who had D1 offers.
The article is decidely non-commital but offers some hope of another big name jumping into Division I hockey sometime. If ASU was able to come in and join the NCHC, it would give D1 hockey it's first school in the west (outside of Colorado) since schools like UCLA and Cal had teams prior to WWII.
File ASU under the listing of teams that probably need a multimillion dollar donation to get this going, but it's an interesting read nonetheless
NHl Central Scouting released their 2015 NHL Futures List (people to keep an eye on this year). Michigan is kinda-sorta leading with 6ish commits on the list. The 'ish' being because Zach Werenski is yet to be officially on the team though he's semi-officially committed.

Generally speaking, Boka, Connor, and Werenski are all viewed as potential 1st round picks next year. Warren, Marody, and Miletic are probably early to mid round guys and Cecconi may be drafted as well. Should be an awesome recruiting class for us as long as the OHL is fended off successfully.
The BU-BC rivalry should be awesome this year as BU has potential #1 overall pick Jack Eichel and BC has likely the #1 defenseman in the draft (and top 5 overall) in Noah Hanifin. Eichel's the likely Hobey winner in my opinion. I can't recall college hockey having so many really elite talents in a single class.
Edit: Oops. Somehow completely missed that Cooper Marody was on the list.
Andrew Copp is continuing the legacy of the #9 jersey. Very quietly and no fanfare, it is THE number in Michigan Hockey. Past #9s-
John MacInnes, Al Renfrew, Red Berenson, Mel Wakabayashi, Brendan Morrison, Andrew Cogliano, Travis Turnbull
