Tennessee is not recruiting well just because they got 18 dudes
Rivals did a nice little write up about the camp in Columbus and they threw props to Shane Morris. Another stand out mentioned from the 2013 class was cornerback Cameron Burrows, out of Trotwood-Madison. He's listed as a big time prospect, but also a heavy Osu lean. We've pulled from that school in recent years(Roundtree, Shaw, Moore). I'd imagine we'd have a shot at a visit, especially when the NCAA swings the banhammer at Columbus. Unless I've missed it, he hasn't been mentioned as a potential prospect. Any leads?
ESPN Insider article from Todd McShay pretty much says Pryor has little to no shot as an NFL QB. He has him ranked as a third round pick ONLY because of his potential to convert to a WR at the next level.
Bottom line, his inaccuracy is a problem as well as his poor football intelligence. (Let's just call that poor intelligence and not unneccesarily limit it, shall we?).
This kid has built up some really bad karma and it's just sitting in a bank vault somewhere waiting to spill out like an over-packed closet in a cartoon.
Last week, Rivals' mods and recruiting analysts hosted a chat between fans and GA DB Geno Smith. Fans asked Geno questions about football, what he liked in each school, what shot each school has, and his life. The full transcript can be found here. As those of you who follow me on twitter know, this week, they have a chat with MO DT and Michigan Target Ondre Pipkins, where any of you will be able to write in and interact with Pipkins. I think it's a pretty cool idea, and I plan to participate. The tentative time right now is set for Thursday at 9 PM EST. Just a little heads up, hope to see some MGoBloggers there with me.
I'm not saying this is 100%, so don't take it that way. There's a chance that Wayne Morgan might not announce tomorrow, though. I said awhile ago that I knew his coaches weren't happy that some of the information being reported about him came out so fast.
They've wanted him to wait, and wanted him to take his visits this whole time. His coach is talking to him tonight to see what he wants to do. I'll let you know when I hear something. As of now the announcement is still on, but could change.
***EDIT***: Just got a text from Wayne that said he probably is going to hold off on the announcement. We'll see what happens, if he decides to do it tomorrow or wait. I'll keep you updated.
From Sporting News Radio this morning, Krenzel didn't exactly shower Tressel's funeral pyre with flowers:
“Coach Tressel has to look in the mirror,” Krenzel said. “He has to hang his hat on it. Our football coach got caught holding a smoking gun in his hand.”
“He was obviously flawed,” Krenzel said. “Maybe he wasn’t as good or perfect, especially that Buckeyes fans wanted him to be or pictured him to be.”
- “People are disgusted, disappointed. Frankly we’re embarrassed by it more than anything.”
- “I do think it is going to get worse,” Krenzel said. “This situation is ugly and it’s going to get uglier.”
Good for you, Craig. Now run and hide.
I just spoke to Massachusetts OL Eric Olson (6'6", 265 lbs), and he told me that he will be visiting Michigan on June 7th. He was offered about three weeks ago and would like to make a mid summer decision. I'll have his full quotes in the Weekly Update on Monday as it's closer to his visit, just thought I'd give you a heads up.
