How is the media totally ignoring our TACKLE CONTROVERSY?
srsly though, Lewan looked good in there today. I don't want to make too much of it because it was fresh legs vs. FCS team in the 4th quarter and all, but it's a positive indicator for his potential.
OTOH, Huyge has been pretty damn good himself. I think Lewan should start seeing more time because he is probably the future at LT. But, a rotation probably isn't the best idea on the OL due to gelling issues, etc.
I'd like to see him play the entire second half of BGSU, at least, to see what he is made of against an FBS opponent for an extended period of time. Thoughts?
UPDATE: You can compare the two at BIDP's offense every snap video. http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/michigan-offense-vs-umass-every-snap Lewan begins at 5:33 and holy crap his second level blocking looks sick.
Michigan fans we are sitting on 3-0 and MSU looks primed for a good battle. Life is overall pretty good. If you are still up, maybe chill and take in some west coast.
Over on Foxsports UCLA v. Houston from the Rose Bowl, Rebecca Harlow is handling the sideline jabber. She is on this late Pac 10 game every week.
She is getting to me. I am leaning towards hot. I'd even say she tops Flanagan and Erin Andrews. And not that it matters, but she is a way better broadcaster. Check her out for a report or two and weigh in.
Would a giant HD "Godzillatron" sized scoreboard fit with the aesthetics of Michigan Stadium? It would be cool to have the largest stadium with the largest scoreboard. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_largest_scoreboards_in_NCAA_college...) Have you seen other scoreboards at other venues that would fit the Michigan Stadium look?
Hopefully we NEVER have advertising in the stadium, but what the hell else would they put on a giant screen? Retired numbers? National/Big Ten Championships? Wolverine statue on top? I'd imagine they'd keep the classic MICHIGAN STADIUM lettering on the top.
Also, what happens to the old scoreboards? They are old but they have a certain mystique to them. Maybe just leave them (fully operating) outside the stadium surrounding area?
Just something to speculate about..
This my take on things. Disagree if you will, but why don't we seem to ever man up and put athlete on athlete? I think that we should seriously consider playing man on man, despite our lack of experience in the defensive backfield. This of course may cause us some big plays, but it would also grow our defensive backfield up much quicker, as well as allowing us to pressure the opposing QB every play. I feel that we have the athletes to cause havoc, we just have to create pressure on more occasions to take advantage. This adjustment in my opinion would be the right call! Your thoughts?
Todd Blackledge ate a fantastic looking breakfast at a place in East Lansing that was featured on the broadcast. Breakfast burrito, potatoes, etc. I don't want to give East Lansing any more credit than is needed, but boy, that looked mighty, mighty good. Did anyone see the name of the restaurant?
Something a little more light hearted after the events of today.
Has anyone else noticed the large number of MSU male fans they show on TV are rockin the double (probably fake) diamond earings? People already think MSU fan's are trash, don't feed into it.
