In order to ease the pain, I'll be watching other people play football. Personally, I'm watching Iowa - Northwestern on BTN. Some of the other top action:
Florida at Auburn - ESPN
Bama at Ole Miss - ESPN 2 (Bama up 14-7 mid 2nd q)
Clemson at Maryland - ESPNU
KSU at TT - FSN
Stanford at Wazzu - Vs. (7:30)
Oklahoma at Kansas - ESPN 2 (9:00)
ASU at Oregon - ESPN (10:15)

I am still smarting from the loss today much of which stems from how we could not make MSU pay dearly for their less than sportsmanlike gameplan. In light of that, I saw this article about Jason Avant (yes, I am an Eagles fan) about his upbringing and his incredible character and resilience.
It is uplifting to see alumni like Avant making a statement with actions and few words that makes me proud to be a Wolverine. Just something to give perspective about the character of people who come through this program, win or lose.
They have Peyton in the booth of the Tenn/LSU game. He just stated that 75% of his throws come without him being able to step into the throw. He says they practice it regularly. I just found it interesting considering all the talk of Denard's problems in the passing game.
Either the Illini have been way over-rated, or the Buckeyes are starting to show some life. Brandon Herron being back seems to be making a difference, too.
No, I don't like losing at all, and that was ugly - we did not play well. But I was watching this one with my 13 year old son. I get him to a couple of games a year and he is becoming a die-hard Wolverine. He is playing middle school ball, and has worked his way up to starting both ways and special teams - he dreams of following in the footsteps of our local hero Des Morgan. But he is still learning about how to play all out and yet be a sportsman on the field, and a gentleman off. Today the Spartans provided a wealth of teachable moments.
The frequent unsportsmanlike conduct (like attempting to injure and remove your opponent with cheap shots like that facemask yank) showed what it is like when young men aren't taught or don't learn these lessons. Clearly Kirk Cousin's dramatic "character" speech fell on deaf ears. My son was somewhat shocked and disturbed, but learned a lot from the contrast between that ugliness, and the character and behavior of Wolverines like Denard.
Apparently pride does not come before the fall. I hope Bielema runs up 70 on these fucks. Karma y u no punish dirty players? Gorgeous Al, y u no run on 4th and 1? Ahhhhhh eff it, keep calm and carry on. It's still great to be a Michigan Wolverine.Hold me, TomVH.
