young guy. pretty tragic.
https://twitter.com/#!/masonkelley/status/141944717884661760 Steve Kelley is a columnist for the Seattle Times. Audacious hire for a program that was widely admired in the 80s and 90s for doing more with less. Leach rewrote the book on that at Texas Tech. Like him or not, the guy is winner.
The Pac 12 is a conference that will racking up some points. The rumors also have Houston's coach going to Arizona State or UCLA.
Sadly, my dream of IIlinois scaring the heck out of Ohio yearly over in the other division has been dealt a major setback.
As of today, Coach Hoke has been named coach of the year in the MAC (2008), MWC (2010) and B1G (2011). Has another coach ever received this recognition in three conferences?
Word on other message boards (Scout, Rivals, NDNation) is that Dayne Crist is going to transfer to Wisconsin. Not as big as a get for Wisconsin as Wilson was but Crist is probably better than any other QB on that roster after Wilson leaves. Crist has 1 year of elgibility and will be able to transfer and play immediately just as Wilson did. He'd be able to play in ND's bowl game and then transfer in time for spring semester and be able to participate in spring practices.
If Rees decides to transfer too, it'd be pretty bad for ND. The ND depth chart at QB would be Hendrix and.... Not exactly the depth you would want when your QB is scrambling and taking hits as often as Hendrix would.
You have to love Brian Kelly burning bridges.
What does the board think?
The Game television ratings were released late yesterday and it shows why The Game is still "The Game".
The Game ratings drew a 5.3 share. A share is what percentage of all households were watching The Game. This year's game is up about 10% compared to last year but not as high as the 2007 game (6.4).
LSU/Ark drew a 6.1 share. This is not surprising that this game beat us because it was on Friday and did not have any competition. It is also a 1 vs 3 game. Ala/Aub drew a 4.3. ND/Stanford at a 4.1 share. Va/Vt drew a 3.2 share, Iowa/Neb drew a 2.2 share. So had either M or ohio been ranked higher, the ratings would have been significantly higher.
Our rating of 5.3 translates to about 6 million viewers. This shows that Michigan is truely "America's Team".
