further adventures in Jed York being unsuited for his position
So, I am looking at the News this morning and I see a cyber survey under this headline on the UM page. "Should Rodriguez be disciplined for using steriods?" I guess now he carries the baggage of all people named Rodriguez...
Michigan finished 7-5 (3-5 Big Ten) in Rich Rodriguez’s third season, and are awaiting word on its bowl destination. The likely scenario is a Dec. 28 date in the Insight Bowl in Tempe, Ariz.. - 11/29/2010
Next year, a lot of senior B10 talent moves on, and most of our tough games get played at home. Our losses this year the defense (and the year before on offense) took on a men vs boys character, something that will finally begin to move in our favor in 2011. At the very least, we will not have to start true freshmen. Huge physical difference between a 19 year old and a 22 year old.
The offense s/b stronger at every level.
On defense, we should get back some experience and depth in the backfield, so that level will be improved. The D-Line will be better, especially with the continued development of Black and QWash. Can't say about the linebackers, but they were not effective this year and would expect improvement since the other units will be better at their responsibilities.
We will be better.

As luck would have it, the 1985 Michigan team is apparently going to be honored during the UM football team banquet this week Thursday.
Harbaugh will be in the house under the same roof as Rodriguez, GERG, Magee and Co.
Anyone know whether the press be there?
Man, for Rodriguez the hits just keep coming. That guy has to be the unluckiest son of a bitch on the planet.
Apparently, Brandon felt the need to say again today that the decision will be made after the end of the season. As if RR did not have enough to deal with, Harbaugh will be at this year's team banquet:
The situation swirling around Rodriguez's status might turn into a circus at the team's banquet Thursday night because Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh plans to be there to be honored along with his 1985 teammates.
Per ESPN, Brandon is not moving up his timetable to evaluate RichRod.
Texas Christian University has accepted an invitation to become an all-sports member to the Big East Conference, industry sources told FanHouse.
The Horned Frogs will join the league beginning on July 1, 2012 and begin play in the Big East in the 2012-13 school year.
An important Michigan-related domino effect of this is that we are unlikely to be able to blow up the Big East by adding one Big East team to the Big Ten, making it less likely in turn that Notre Dame would join the Big Ten (Notre Dame has stated that they would only join the Big Ten if the Big East blew up).
UPDATE: Here's a report from the NY Daily News:
In a move designed to prop up a weak football conference, The Big East has convinced TCU to leave the Mountain West and join the league as an all sports member, sources told the Daily News early this morning. Commissioner John Marinatto and Associate Commisioner in charge of communications John Paquette both flew to Dallas yesterday for the official announcement at 1 p.m. today...
For all we know, this could be just the first domino to drop in expansion. With TCU, the league now has 17 teams. The Big East has offered Villanova a chance to join in football, b ut the Philadelphia school seems to be dragging its feet about a decision and there is always a chance the Big East could invite Central Florida or even re-invite Temple to create a 10th football team and an 18th team in the league.
