"The Ghost of Jay Cutler" takes a road trip to UTL/photo essay:
Boise at Toledo on ESPN
Iowa St. at UConn on ESPN2.
Drinking Black Butte Porter.
This probably doesn't warrant its own tread but what the hell, it's a slow day on the board.
I just ran into Justin Turner at the bank here in Scottsdale, AZ. He came in rockin' a UM Football Addidas shirt. I gave him a big "Go Blue" while thinking to myself, "man, I've seen this guy somewhere before." Sure nuff, I then spotted his badass UM tatoo on his forearm.
I asked if it was him and he affirmed. We shook hands and I gave him my best wishes. He looked like he was in great shape, I really hope things work out for him in the long run. He was my favorite recruit by far from his class, I hope we see him wrecking receivers in the near future. We could have really used that guy, I was shocked at his size. He's no T Rich or Boo Boo, I'll say that much.
It's pretty clear he still bleeds maize n blue. He seemed happy they won last week after I mentioned our epic victory.
Maybe I'll get out to catch a game of his at Scottsdale CC this year. He'll always be a Wolverine in my book, even though he never played a snap in the big house :( Go Blue!!
So I am finally getting my first authentic Michigan Jersey, and it has always been my intention to buy a #2 jersey first since CW is my favorite player of all time, but I still have plans to slowly collect jerseys from all of the greats. My question is this: Will #21 jerseys be sold with the Legend patch from now on? If so, I may get Desmond's jersey first and wait to get Woodson's jersey at a time after he is inauguarated as a Legend and gets his patch.
I would understand if they do not want to have the patches on jerseys that are being sold and save that honor for the actual jerseys being used by the players, but I haven't been able to find any information on how this will be handled.
Have any of you heard the Mike Valenti freak out on the ND MSU game from 2006? It was on 24/7 sports today and I have never heard anything like this. I mean, I love football, I freak out, I refresh more times per day than I want to admit - but this is unhealthy.
If you haven't heard it before, goodness, give it a listen. and you can't stop listening. It is like some crazy mess of a trainwreck that just sucks you into and leaves you dumbfounded.
Chris Childers (I think it was him) said that it was everything he wanted to be and that he could only dream of being like this (or something to that effect). Can anyone enlighten me as to why he would want to be like that? Is it just the passion of the game every announcer wants to achieve?
