.....My petition for a mascot got denied
What are y'all talking about JT? I am lost right now???
Wow wow wow we are talking about something completely different. Stop putting words in my mouth yall are about to get me in big trouble.
These were 3 tweets from TWoolf29 after everyone freaked out. Take what you want from them.
So it became struck me that our defensive woes may not be the result of poor talent or inexperience, they may in fact be the result of our coaches having poor instincts for actually coaching defense. If that is the case, then the Seinfeld episode "George does the Opposite" may in fact hold the key to turning the season around on defense. It worked for George, why couldn't it work for GERG?
George: It became very clear to me sitting out there today, that every decision I've ever made, in my entire life, has been wrong. My life is the opposite of everything I want it to be. Every instinct I have, in every area of life, be it something to wear, something to eat ... It's all been wrong.
... Elaine : Ah, George, you know, that woman just looked at you.
George : So what? What am I supposed to do?
Elaine : Go talk to her.
George : Elaine, bald men, with no jobs, and no money, who live with their parents, don't approach strange women.
Jerry : Well here's your chance to try the opposite. Instead of tuna salad and being intimidated by women, chicken salad and going right up to them.
George : Yeah, I should do the opposite, I should.
Jerry : If every instinct you have is wrong, then the opposite would have to be right.
George : Yes, I will do the opposite. I used to sit here and do nothing, and regret it for the rest of the day, so now I will do the opposite, and I will do something!
( He goes over to the woman )
George : Excuse me, I couldn't help but notice that you were looking in my direction.
Victoria : Oh, yes I was, you just ordered the same exact lunch as me.
( G takes a deep breath )
George : My name is George. I'm unemployed and I live with my parents.
Victoria (very interested) : I'm Victoria. Hi.
It couldn't hurt.
I find it interesting that RR played defensive back given his status as an innovator on offense. We have all discussed at length that he doesn't spend much time with the defense, and personally I am fine with that. If Casteel were available I would want him, if only for the reason that I know RR would trust Casteel enough to NOT dabble in the defense.
My interest is that RR; is not a defensive coach, doesn't claim to be a defensive coach, and would assume to be in a position where he doesn't need to spend anytime with the defense...yet played defense in college.
For those that know more than I do, are there any other names that jump out to you as coaches / coordinators who specialize on one side of the ball, yet whose playing career took place on the other?
Yes, it has been a challenging week. The D is in question and needs experience and more talent. What recruits eyes are going to light up when Michigan comes calling? A commit soon could put this week behind us. The O is going to be a juggernaut. I don't think for a minute a Frosh is going to come in next year and turn this D around. However, a select group could break through and add needed depth. Who will it be?
My first choice is Zettel.
No. 2. D. Grant
