Hoke was top notch at this aspect of his job.
Per ESPN, "Michigan State's secondary had a big-play problem in 2009. The Spartans gave up too many and made too few of their own."
"Consequently, Michigan State ranked last in the Big Ten in pass defense (267.6 ypg), pass touchdowns allowed (32) and fewest takeaways (14). The Spartans ranked second to last in the league in interceptions with just six."
Always nice to see Sparty falling short to us in some way, especially when its our biggest Preakness.
Dear MGoBlog community, My deepest apologies, my eyes worked faster than my mind on this one. However, in an attempt to rectify this imprudent oversight, I am editing the title, and will follow that up with the rationality, sparty has seen a fast improvemnt in their secondary, and we all know anything they can do, we can do better!
Apologize if posted already:
EDIT: CHIP Kelly
I just noticed this, sorry if I am a day or two late.
It is nice to see Mallory (um grad, 1988) having some success. I wish him well (just not too much since he is now back in the Big Ten)
Anyone have other Michigan grads/coaches that are in the news lately (not named JH)?
I don't mean to come off as a braggart here, but I thought you all might be interested in the holiday e-letter that I received from my new friend, Coach Rodriguez, and the entire Michigan football family. He sent me the below message last night to express his appreciation of my support of the program and to personally wish me a happy holiday season.
December 21, 2010
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
I would like to take the time to thank you for all your cards, letters and emails of support throughout the past year. I appreciate them all very much.
On behalf of the players and staff, Happy Holidays to you and all the best in the coming year.
Have a great holiday!
