Husker fans aren't eager to go to Orlando
http://www.detroitnews.com/article/20121228/SPORTS0203/212280441/1361/Ne...
Nebraska fans have a reputation for being extremely devoted bowl travelers, but the embarrassment in the B1G title game (perhaps coupled with the fact that this is their second straight trip to Orlando) seems to be keeping them away this time.
Personally, I think the league needs some new bowl sites. Do we really need to send teams to Orlando, Tampa and Jacksonville? Going to Florida all the time gets old. I miss the Holiday Bowl.
2 Texas players accused of sexual assault at Alamo Bowl [LOCKED]
2 Texas Longhorns football players were suspended and sent home from the Alamo Bowl after being accused of sexual assault last night. Early reports are the two players are QB Case McCoy and LB Jordan Hicks.
Mod edit: Discussions on a high profile sexual assault case rarely result in anything positive, especially with practically no facts on hand. Ugly situation all around, including some of the comments already which will no doubt multiply. Thread locked. JGB.
Craig Roh > Ironman
They touched on it during the video interview, but here is a pretty nice article by K. Meinke.
This is another one of those records that I didn't think I would see fall. Over and above the day to day durability, it requires more than a bit of luck, beginning with not finding a senior All-American filling your spot as a freshman. Congratulations to Roh.

I am going to the Outback Bowl Team Luncheon
So I am headed to the team luncheon today at the convention center in Tampa. I didn't know if anyone has attended a similar event and had any idea what kind of access to the players and coaches I may have. I went to the contract signing a couple of weeks ago and got some pics with Coach Hoke but I was only able to chat with him for about 30 seconds. The coaches were kind of in and out at the contract signing. I assume since it is an hour lunch with both teams that once the food is done there will likely be some time to mingle but I honestly don't know.
VIDEO: Outback Bowl Players Visit Children's Hospital
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2uUpGEwL0k&f
My apologies for having no idea how to embed. Thought this video was very cool though, great to see these players having a positive effect on those around them! It's a South Carolina video, so the second half is just an interview with some South Carolina players, but the first half is still quite nice.
