this week in unintentionally grim-sounding recruiting headlines
As we all know there have been several coaching changes since the original BTN recruiting commercial, including our own.
I was hoping we could come up with the Michigan replacement for this:
Maybe something along the lines of this:
Obviously, I have no photo shopping skills our creativity but I was hoping my fellow MGoBloggers could help me out with this sorry little project.
Please help the BTN with your Michigan replacement ideas.
I think everyone out there who is up in arms about Brian's response to the Hoke hire needs to step back and take a deep breath.
Brady Hoke became the next coach at Michigan only two days ago now. I know that when I first heard the news I was less than thrilled. But since that time I have really warmed up to him, and now I'm all in. But for others it may take more time.
More importantly, we all need to realize that Brian is entitled to his opinion on this matter. That guy works tirelessly to make this the best blog of any kind that I have ever been a part of. And guess what? I get to log on to this site and be a part of it for FREE! So despite my disagreement with Brian's perspective at the moment, I'm still all in for him and this blog as well.
I know that the Michigan fan base needs to be united in order for the program to be successful. And it is my hope that Brian eventually warms up to Brady Hoke. But the one thing I will never question is that Brian is ALL IN FOR MICHIGAN. Michigan is that guy's life. And this blog is the product of that.
To Brian, I'm sure my vote of confidence doesn't mean much, as you've no doubt developed tough skin over your time running this site. But most of us are still behind you. So keep up the good work that we get to enjoy every day.
BEAT THAT SCHOOL IN OHIO!
For anyone who has played football, coached it, etc. how much of field goal kicking is really coaching?
I grew up playing soccer and I've always equated FG kicking to penalty kicks: meaning there are plenty of techniques, but its really more about how you handle pressure and your mental fortitude than anything else. Either you were good at them because you thrived under the pressure or you failed because you couldn't take it.
Is field goal kicking really that much about coaching?
Step up...are you Blue or not? I don't think going on WTKA and being a naysayer is the way to go. How will Brady Hoke turn out? None of us know. But speak of Hope, not the negative.
This kind of goes along with WindyCityBlue’s earlier point about being an elite program – do we, as a program, as a fan base, care about national championships?
As annoying as Drew Sharp is, I actually understand his line of questioning yesterday. Shouldn’t our goal every year be to win a national championship, not just the Big Ten? I realize that winning the Big Ten is, most likely, a step along the way but there were many times over the years when we lost in September and all hopes of a national championship were dashed. Then, as a fan base, we all said, well at least we can still win the Big Ten.
I was at the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1, 1998 and I got a taste of what it was like to be the very best and I want that back! I don’t want to settle for just GOING to Pasadena every few years. But, the more I hear other people talk, they seem just fine with that. Is it me? Is it wrong to want more? I’m honestly really struggling with this so I need feedback.
Please don’t negbang me to Bolivian - I don't have enough MGoPoints to sustain it!
