Who is Mike Marrow and why didn't he want us?
The Detroit News is reporting that former Alabama redshirt RB Mike Marrow is transferring to Eastern Michigan over offers from Michigan and Wisconsin (among others).
Is this real or is Marrow trying to make it sound like he had more interest from big time programs than he really did? According to Rivals Michigan wasn't in play with Marrow back in 2009 so I would be surprised if we were actively involved in recruiting this transfer now.
Updating Depth Chart by Class
As you know - the depth chart by class is updatable by MGoUsers with enough MGoPoints. I believe the threshold is 500 points. Since I am quite bit away from that - I am listing the required changes below and asking users with enough points to do the honor of updating the page:
1. Remove A. White from RB
2. Move M. Moundros# from FB to LB, Add McColgan# (spelling?) to FB
3. Remove J. Turner from CB
4. Remove V. Emilien from FS
5. Remove A. Lalota from from DE
6. Update scholarship count after the changes with counting Moundros and Grady as scholarship players perhaps.
I think that is all at the moment - hopefully we will not have any more transfers and the resulting change in the Depth Chart by Class.

UM Opponent Sagarin Rankings
So, I was digging around in the Sagarin rankings because I was impressed with the UMASS win over William & Mary two weeks ago. According to Sagarin, the UMASS (69) game will be more difficult than the following:
- Bowling Green (108)
- Indiana (91)
- Purdue (89)
- Connecticut (80)
- and Minnesota (105) if they actually played
While I do think Michigan has a right to be confident in playing a FCS team, I do not think this team should be taken that lightly. The CAA tends to be successful against FBS teams, and I would be willing to put their teams up against MAC and Sun Belt teams any day of the week.
A little Heisman smell-test on Pryor's numbers...
Admitted bias given here.... but you take a look at these numbers:
Player A: 36/53 passing 419 yds 5 tds 1 int and 24 rush 107 yds 1 td thru 2 games with a 2-0 record
Player B: 29/52 passing 480 yds 4 tds 0 int and 28 rush 130 yds 1 td thru 2 games with a 2-0 record
Who are they? One is a Heisman "front-runner" and the other a 1st year QB on a talent deficient team. A = 2009 Tate Forcier; B = (obviously) 2010 Terelle Pryor
I just don't get the TP Heisman movement (obviously a part of some large scale Columbus men in sweater vests propaganda thing...). I get that he's a worthwhile talent. I don't get the Vince Young comparions, nor the idea he's good enough for Heisman. The talent around him seems to make up for too many "rough" parts of his game.
I'm not saying anyone in particular at Michigan is Heisman worthy (yet), nor do I have some "Tate" agenda (just used as an example). However, I don't get how TP is so highly thought of, when his numbers are NOT consistently (all year 2009 for example) any better than they are.
Michigan vs. UMass - Point Spread & Over/Under?
I've done some initial searching an cannot find any point spread or over/under for this weekend's game. I realize UMass is an FCS team so perhaps there is no official point spread. If this is the case, can someone provide an estimate?
Or since THE_KNOWLEDGE already knows the final score, maybe he can chime in with his thoughts. THE_KNOWLEDGE is a great man and shall leave all doubters in a trail of dust.
Thank you in advance.
