The season is upon us. The first few days of games is already under our collective belt, and the awful TV commentators have already triggered what has become an annual piercing whine from college football fans nationwide. I wonder if any of my fellow MGoFans have solved the conundrum of wanting to watch the game on TV, but wishing there was a way to get commentators other than those on TV. One problem with streaming a radio play-by-play is that there is a bad delay that renders such a set up worthless. I'll bet one of you youngsters has figured out the computer to solve this! So how do you do it? Let's do it this way:
Who are your favorite (current!) play-by-play announcers for Michigan football (radio and TV)?
Who has figured out how to set up an internet stream in such a way to coincide with the timing of the action on TV? Is there a program or application to facilitate this?
(Also, for those of you who say that there is a "Sticky" MGoBoard post about this, the post does not handle how to fix the delay problem. In addition, I want to trigger discussion about who are people's favorite commentators and why.)
SIAP but I couldn't find this one anywhere. I think it's new news.
Rivals put up their 250 watchlist
Damien Harris 5* 6.1
George Campbell 4* 6.0
Shaun Crawford 4* 5.9
Tyree Kinnel 4* 5.8
Also of note:
Brian Cole 5.8
Jashon Cornell 5.9
Chuma Edoga 5.9
Hjalte Froholdt 5.8
Sterling Jenkins 6.0
Tim Settle 6.0
TJ Wheatley 5.9
Minkah Fitzpatrick 6.1
IIRC typically the breakdown of rating v stars is (edit: as pointed out below, since there's only 10 five stars right now, the breakdown is probably more like so:)
So I saw this in the comments of another thread and this deserves it's own thread.
Washington Post's first episode tracking #1 recruit Da'Shawn Hand came out and it's roughly 7-8 minutes long. Prescott Burgess makes an appearance and they show some plays from Woodbridge HS first scrimmage. Nothing stands out like Jabrill Pepper's scrimmage through.
My daughter is a Staff Sgt in the USAF stationed in Warner Robbins AFB. Her MOS is short term (24 hour) weather forecasting for the Eastern USA. Her forecasts are slightly different from the NWS that we get via Weatherbug, Weather Channel and other weather sources.
Her Lt. is a HUGE Michigan fan and has authorized her to be the "unofficial" weather forecaster for MGoBlog. Here is her terminal forecast for KARB:
10am: 75deg wind 010 @ 4: Rain: 45% Partly Sunny
11am: 77 deg wind 010 @5 Rain: 50% Partly Sunny
Noon: 79 deg wind 000 @ 5 Rain: 43% Partly Sunny
1pm: 82 deg wind 010 @6 Rain: 40% Partly Sunny
2pm: 82 deg wind [email protected] Rain 40% Partly Sunny
3pm: 84 deg wind [email protected] Rain: 38% Partly Sunny
KICKOFF: 84 deg wind [email protected] Rain 37% Partly Sunny
4pm: 84 Deg wind [email protected] Rain 38% Partly Sunny
5pm: 82 Deg wind [email protected] Rain 36% Partly Sunny
6pm: 81 Deg wind [email protected] Rain 40% Partly Sunny
7pm: 75 Deg wind [email protected] Rain 45% Partly Sunny
8pm: 72 Deg wind [email protected] Rain 50% Partly Sunny
So it looks like the game will get book-ended by rain. So plan ahead with a poncho just in case.
