Nice. Looks like they went with the updated, "no frills" logo.
I know we talk a lot about potential position switches so I wanted to suggest this one:
I know we're in on a handful of solid WR recruits right now, but none who have pulled the trigger just yet. If a handful of these guys head elsewhere and we're left with less than two commits, what about letting Jeremy Clark in the 2012 class as a WR. We need the bodies there, moreso than at safety with Gant and Wilson in this class and likely Thomas and others in 2013. He's got a great WR build at 6'4" 205 and has a reported 40 time under 4.5. He has good ball skills, and you know he's physical if we want him at safety.
No one knew anything about Clark when we offered him, but he's had good showings since then. The coaches clearly think he's a good enough athlete for Michigan, and if we only get one of our top choices at WR, I'd propose our second WR be Jeremy Clark.
A lot of people have posted wondering about the reliability of these guys when addressing the ongoing situation in Columbus. I've been listening to these guys for probably 4 or so years now. Lately, they've caught on and become pretty popular in central Ohio, and their schtick level is higher than it used to be, but they're still easily my favorite sports personalities, be it local or national. They are obviously OSU biased, even though neither grew up in Ohio. However, they routinely call a spade a spade, and are the first to criticize OSU athletes and the last to dismiss UofM athletes out of hand. If you get past all the OSU love, which I have been subjected to for almost 6 years now, they're actually pretty hilarious at times, and usually spot on with their takes on situations.
I can't see them discussing this stuff on the air unless they honestly believe it to be true. They may not vet their sources as well as a George Dohrmann type, but I'm sure some level of diligence was paid. This is not to say that their sources aren't snowballing them, but I know enough background to comfortably say that these guys aren't making this stuff up. I know this isn't breaking news or anything, but I thought I'd lend some background perspective on this OSU situation.
Any other Columbus people out there that have any take on this?
A&M to the SEC is looking more and more like a done deal. A&M had originally scheduled a Board of Regents meeting for 8/22 to discuss (and presumably approve) the deal. Today, the Texas legislature scheduled hearings for next week to discuss (and presumably kill) the deal. A&M's response? They have just moved the BOR meeting up a week to 8/15, this Monday.
I am going to the SDSU game this year and can get seats in sec 1 row 15.
Is row 15 far enough from the field to see all of the action?
Apparently this kid is under-recruited, and with a list of considerations that includes the Arkansas State Red Wolves and Central Arkansas Bears among his top 5, I'd have to say it's a possibility. (Of course, being recruited by Bobby Petrino, Mizzou and Tennessee brings some cred.)
He was just named co-MVP of the Elite 11.
Worth a shot? Or should we go for another DT big enough to eat him?
