Michigan Monday is up at the Ozone (edit: first two words of this post is the link.) Great read, fascinating take, you should go there. In short, I can tell you that they really diss MSU. Michigan, not so much.
Gerdeman goes on and on and on extensively about the cheap shots and bad officiating in the game. A few money quotes:
Michigan State committed over a half dozen personal fouls, though only four were actually called. They beat Michigan up on Saturday and the Wolverines took their beating politely and respectfully, never once raising a hand in defense, or calling out for help.
Yes, the Wolverines got legitimately beaten up against Michigan State, but they deserved a better showing than what they got from some terrible Big Ten officials in this game.
He also questions Borges' play-calling, in light of the wind and Denard's (lack of) accuracy:
The wind was a factor all over the midwest this past weekend, and some teams chose to take note of that fact (Ohio State threw four passes) and some teams chose not to (Michigan threw 31 passes).
I'm not saying throwing 31 passes in 24 mph winds is dumb, but there are certain types of passes that you do and do not throw in windy conditions.
Denard Robinson threw 24 passes, and a full one-third of them (that's eight for any Spartans reading this) were thrown at least 15 yards downfield. Not surprisingly, Robinson only completed one of these eight throws, and that was for the bare minimum of 15 yards.
Even so, Gerdeman is still solidly in the pro-Denard camp:
I'm still not sure what Devin Gardner's role is on this team. I do know that every time he takes a snap and Denard Robinson doesn't, the defense is winning. Even when Robinson is being contained, he's still a threat at any moment to score a touchdown.
Read the article. Great analysis, one of the best pieces I've seen. He does predict, given our performance in this game, that Michigan goes .500 in the last four games, ending with a 9 - 3 record. I personally wouldn't mind that, as long as we actually win against Ohio.
With the respect for the Michigan tradition that Brady Hoke has, the creativity that Al Borges has, and the throwback jerseys already being worn twice(!!) this season...there is no better way to incorporate all of these things then by bringing out the lloydbook and running the good old Double Pass play.
We probably have the best personnel to run this play then we've ever had before. Two very fast quarterbacks who cause defenses to get worried when both on the field at the same time (a la Woodson). The throw could turn into a disaster, yes, but in the right situation it could be fun (and 7).
Before you paste your 'cool story bro' images in a post, recognize that this post is: (a) Not about the MSU game or the after effects and suspensions (b) Not about a QB change (c) Has a video (unless embed derp) that might bring back some good memories

What are the chances that we play ND again in a bowl game this year? ND will likely be 9-3 and we'll be sitting at 10-2 or 9-3. UTL was a great, great game and the tickets would sell themselves. If we did play, any predictions on what bowl game we'd play them in?
And have we ever played ND in a bowl game before? If we did, how'd that game go?
My quick take: Gholston should be suspended for this week's game against Wisconsin. His conduct in both cases is completely unacceptable. If Michigan State doesn't step in, which wouldn't totally shock me, the Big Ten should do so.
I agree that a one game suspension for Wisky would be about right. Love how he says that Dantonio doing nothing wouldn't shock him.
I didn't see last week. I hope they steadied that camera.
I don't post on here much and I'm sure I'll get severly negged for this also does not help I'm form Ohio but nevertheless I need to get this off my chest. For those of you who keep posting that Spartan fan has an inferiority complex I just don't see it. They've beaten us four times in a row there is no need for them to feel inferior any longer. We are inferior to them right now and until we find a way to beat them we will continue to be so. They have better talent and clearly are more physical and take this rivalry much more seriously than our coaches ande players The only inferiority I see is from our fan base. All the whining about the late hits needs to stop it happened. Stuff like that happens in every game its football for god sakes.
Also the thing that bothers me most is all of you asking for Wisconsin to crush Michigan State for us. That's not what Michigan does. We are better than that. That's the Michigan State of old would do that and hope Ohio State would come beat us to make their pain feel a bit better. Michigan should never ever take the position of looking for someone bigger and better to take care of business that our team could not take care off. It sickens me I've never seen a teams fans whine and complain so much about a couple personal fouls in a football game its about as obnoxious to me as the personal fouls themselves. Go ahead and neg away and call me a troll but thats how I see it.
We still have a great shot and having a wonderful season and beat Ohio. I believe we should focus on that more than a couple late hits and Wisconsin handling our business.
