"He's a hard worker, and he watched me and Tim (Hardaway Jr.) and Nik (Stauksas) put work in to become (first-round picks), and I'm just happy he's getting better," Burke said. "It's great for the program, too. It shows what type of program the University of Michigan is and the direction it continues to go in."
I'm not saying this is 100%, so don't take it that way. There's a chance that Wayne Morgan might not announce tomorrow, though. I said awhile ago that I knew his coaches weren't happy that some of the information being reported about him came out so fast.
They've wanted him to wait, and wanted him to take his visits this whole time. His coach is talking to him tonight to see what he wants to do. I'll let you know when I hear something. As of now the announcement is still on, but could change.
***EDIT***: Just got a text from Wayne that said he probably is going to hold off on the announcement. We'll see what happens, if he decides to do it tomorrow or wait. I'll keep you updated.
From Sporting News Radio this morning, Krenzel didn't exactly shower Tressel's funeral pyre with flowers:
“Coach Tressel has to look in the mirror,” Krenzel said. “He has to hang his hat on it. Our football coach got caught holding a smoking gun in his hand.”
“He was obviously flawed,” Krenzel said. “Maybe he wasn’t as good or perfect, especially that Buckeyes fans wanted him to be or pictured him to be.”
- “People are disgusted, disappointed. Frankly we’re embarrassed by it more than anything.”
- “I do think it is going to get worse,” Krenzel said. “This situation is ugly and it’s going to get uglier.”
Good for you, Craig. Now run and hide.
I just spoke to Massachusetts OL Eric Olson (6'6", 265 lbs), and he told me that he will be visiting Michigan on June 7th. He was offered about three weeks ago and would like to make a mid summer decision. I'll have his full quotes in the Weekly Update on Monday as it's closer to his visit, just thought I'd give you a heads up.
For those interested, take a look at Jason Whitlock's recent article re: Jim Tressel. This is as close to a defense of what Tressel did as I have seen, and it is laughable. Basically, JT didn't "really" do anything wrong - it is all the NCAA's fault for basically having rules, and so what that JT lied to the NCAA.
For those who are not familiar with his writing, he is a typical media blowhard, who likes to take strong positions and hear himelf speak (on paper). He did write a great piece on Hoke being the right guy for Michigan a few days before Hoke was hired, but that was just about the only good thing that he has ever written.
EDIT: The "Whitcock" reference was an honest to goodness typo - freudian, perhaps, but still a typo. I never do the 12-year-old MLive thing, so my apologies.

so now that we know what was really going on, I feel for RichRod.
Lets put the defensive implosion aside for a moment, and reflect on a guy who went down with his morals intact.....and our cheatin' bastid of an opponent, who paid for and lied for his success.
Lets reflect on RR's handling of Tate (lookie, no wings!), his concern for Denard vs Illinois, when his job was clearly on the line......even suspending the punter for the OSU game for violating team rules.......did I hear that Tressel once punished an offender by "suspending" him for the first series of the game?
How 'bout the story about Tressel rigging raffles so the big-time recruits win the goodies at a kids summer football camp? We learned plenty about RichRod in his time here.....and he certainly seemed a "stand up guy" to me.
So if you were a college athletic director looking to elevate your bs school with a higher profile in football, who would you hire if the choice was RichRod or Liar Liar Vest on Fire?
