coaches say you can't, so don't sign a loi
Here's what he had to say about Ohio's extra coaches:
“It allows more coaching resources to work on the two primary responsibilities of any staff—coaching and recruiting. I am struggling to understand how this relates to the `level playing field’ the NCAA claims it is always working to create.”
Say what you will about Brandon (and I'm sure someone will complain about him in the comments), you have to love that he's calling the NCAA out. Having an extra set of coaches is a distinct advantage that makes a mockery of the NCAA's claims of fair and equal treatment. I'm surprised that it hasn't really gotten more attention from the national media.
Is it going to the favorite? Or will all the still voting for Luck votes put him over the top? Will the race be tight, or a Desmond like blowout?

This is an actual email my uncle's friend, an ohio grad, sent to Gordon Gee. Lots of institutional control going on down there.
Dear President Gee:
I recently read in the Toledo Blade where Jim Tressel was invited back on campus to speak to our players before the Michigan game. It was my understanding that Tressel was taking much of the blame for a lack of oversight and the cover-up resulting in his resignation. Given that this was merely a few months ago and that the NCAA hasn’t even concluded their investigation and announced the final penalty, I find it extremely arrogant of the athletic department to think that it would be acceptable to invite JT back and to put him in front of the very players that he harmed. Motivational speakers are supposed to be individuals that we can look up to and inspire us. What is the message we are giving these young athletes when we bring back a confessed liar and cheater, someone that has embarrassed our University and State, and use him as a role model? The extremely poor decisions that have been made and the lack of oversight can lead to the only possible conclusion, Gene Smith MUST be fired. If the buck doesn’t stop with him, particularly now that Tressel is no longer running the football program, then does it stop with you??? If so, you should both resign. Congratulations on hiring a top notch coach. I hope that he is able to overcome all the obstacles that JT and Gene Smith have left for him and to run an honest program that will teach our student athletes the difference between right and wrong and won’t idolize those that have brought shame and embarrassment to OSU.
Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. My understanding of the situation is that the University did not invite Coach Tressel to address the football players before the Michigan game; the student-athletes requested the meeting. Thank you, also, for your support of Urban Meyer. We look forward to the leadership that he and the other coaches will bring to the program.
Sincerely, E. Gordon Gee
So if I understand you, your claiming that there was a lack of oversight???
No, that is not what I am claiming.
Sincerely, E. Gordon Gee
