ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The University of Michigan Athletic Department will produce a two-and-a-half hour National Signing Day Webcast live from Schembechler Hall on Wednesday, Feb. 5, beginning at 6:30 a.m.
The Inside Michigan Football Signing Day Special, powered by XFINITY, will be hosted by Michigan football radio sideline reporter Doug Karsch and former U-M strong safety Marcus Ray, and will be streamed free of charge on MGoBlue.com.
The show will include behind-the-scenes access, video highlight packages and biographical information on U-M's 2014 signees, as well as interviews with select Michigan players and coaches. Live cameras will give viewers the opportunity to see inside the facility as coaches and administrators gather to process the National Letters of Intent as they come off the fax machine.
Also on Wednesday, Michigan head coach Brady Hoke will hold a 2 p.m. press conference to discuss the newest additions to the Wolverine football program. MGoBlue.com will stream the press conference live and an archive will be available shortly after the event.
In addition to MGoBlue.com, fans can follow Signing Day updates through Michigan Athletics' official Twitter account @umichfootball, and join the Signing Day conversation by using hashtag #UMSigningDay. Fans also can text SIGN to 54815 to receive official up-to-the-minute Signing Day mobile alerts. Message and data rates may apply.
NSD is like a holiday for me so I will be taking the day off and up at 6:30 to watch the show and fill in the class! I know I have problems.
If you didn't catch the first season, this profiles local Detroit real estate agent Jason Abrams as he finds ridiculous properties for his NFL player/clients. I suspect more than a few people here knew Jason from West Bloomfield High School. He also worked with Cato June last season in one episode, and I suspect we'll be seeing more Michigan representation in episides to come!
Awesome show. Really happy for the guy...
I missed part of the update, but from what I heard, Sam said Michigan is DEFINITELY not out of it. He said he couldn't go into details, but he said MSU definitely has issues to overcome and there are factors heavily in favor of Michigan. He said OSU is also making a late run since Larry Johnson was hired. He felt they had no chance before. No one has any idea who the real favorite is but he emphasized strongly that Michigan is still in contention.
Edited: Upon replaying the podcast Sam said it was clear then changed it to pretty clear that his parents said it wouldn't go past signing day but then said it wasn't likely.
Position: Tight End

Offers: Arizona State
Ranking: ★★ (Rivals)
Tight end seems to be a position of focus this week as a few offers have gone out and several other prospects are being checked up on. I spoke with Tyler Petite today and he's another player that is on the tight end board somewhere and could potentially be offered if some of the other offerees fall through.
Petite was visited by Coach Nussmeier and was told that the coaching staff has seen his film and really like the way that he plays. Nussmeier invited Petite to the Junior Day, February 23, and also let him know that the coaches plan on visiting him later this year.
Petite is a California kid but he says he'd like to try and attend the junior day if his schedule is open. He's never been to Michigan so he'd like to check it out.
The coaches offered two tight ends today and figure to be in good shape with Wheatley Jr. so at this point I'd put Petite in the back-up plan category. If he attends the junior day he might move up the board slightly.

Recently followed on Twitter by Coach Nussmeier and Coach Singletary, Brian Lewerke is a 3-star quarterback out of Arizona.
Brian was visited last week by Coach Ferrigno and already has a relationship formed with Coach Nussmeier from his time at Alabama.
The recruting process is in the early stages for Lewerke and Michigan as he said Coach Ferrigno basically just came by to get his contact information and let him know that they will be keeping an eye on him moving forward.
At this point Lewerke said he definitely likes Michigan and the football program but its early and he is still learning about them.
This is a first for me but Lewerke told me that he actually did a report on the state of Michigan when he was in 3rd grade and one of the things he learned a lot about was the University of Michigan and the football history and he became a fan then.
I don't quite think a 3rd grade report will be what sways Lewerke to choose Michigan, but the fact is that he's been a fan of Michigan since then because of it. He is simply another name to watch at this point among the other QB's that have been recently discussed.
