Title says it. Go Blue! I can watch this game over and over and over and over and over. Go Blue!
Former 5-star RB Isaiah Crowell of the Georgia Bulldogs was arrested on weapons charges.
You may remember Crowell from EDSBS post (here). Apparently, he had some issues with the coaches during the year, as well.
Mod Edit: Keep any personal feelings about the rightness/wrongness of carrying firearms to yourself or risk the wrath of many negative points. [zl]
The IMG 7v7 football National Championship is this weekend, starting with a skills competition today, and games tomorrow. This link will have photos, interviews, and a live stream of the championship game Sunday 3:45 pm EST:
Team Maximum Exposure is the defending national champion, and includes 2013 Michigan commits Shane Morris, Khalid Hill, Jourdan Lewis, and C'sonte York. Norfleet was on this team as well, although not sure if he will be playing as a 2012 commit, and I can't find rosters listed anywhere (stupid work firewalls).
Team Tampa has Michigan targets WR Bailey and DB McQuay III.
Team Core 6 has LTT and Treadwell, although LTT is playing in the first round of the IFAF U-19 World Championship in Texas this weekend, and Treadwell dropped out in favor of a camp in California (cue panic).
Are there other Michigan commits/targets on other teams that you know of? Feel free to post and other info, links, or updates that you know of...

Bit of a weird request here. For those of you that don't know, I'm pretty hard of hearing. Deaf, for all intents and purposes.
Anyway, I was just linked to a live feed of some basset hound puppies on twitter, and before the ustream came up, there as a commercial for NCAA 13. The commercial had a father walk into his son's room, the father wearing an Ohio sweatshirt, and the son is playing NCAA 13, The Game. He appears to be playing as Ohio State. They talk for a moment, and then the father throws the son's TV out the window.
I'm just wondering what was actually going on there, because I'm a sucker for popular references to The Game. was the dad mad because the son was losing to Michigan, or what?
Sam has penned a very interesting article on an impressive recruit from Ohio: Michael Ferns III. The article features Ferns III, but also gives some interesting insights on Joe Bolden, DL Coach Jerry Montgomery, the impressiveness of M in general, and of course the one and only Brady Hoke.
This quote from Papa Ferns regarding DL Coach Jerry Montgomery really caught my attention.
He is as strong a recruiter as we've dealt with," the elder Ferns said about Montgomery. "He's pretty on top of the game, and he's real good about informing you. He's a real asset to Michigan. He is very open. You get comfortable talking with him to where you can ask him or tell him anything, and you don't feel like you're being put to some sort of sales pitch. So instantly, you feel good about that."
John U. Bacon contributed a great story to the Detroit News regarding Michigan legend Bob Chappuis. Very much a human interest piece, but Chappuis was a very interesting human. Article is here: http://www.detroitnews.com/article/20120629/OPINION03/206290302/Bob-Chappuis-One-U-M-s-great-ones-from-Greatest-Generation?odyssey=mod|newswell|text|Sports|p .
Among the tidbits is the fact that Chappuis's father told Chappuis that he could go to any college he wanted - other than Ohio State. A lot of the article focuses on Chappuis's service in WWII, including a story of him being shot down behind enemy lines in Italy:
he and two crewmates hid in a ditch behind some bushes while Italian soldiers marched by. One of his crewmates pulled out his knife, and motioned for them to attack. Chappuis grabbed his shoulder, pushed him down and whispered, "They've got us outnumbered 10-to-1, and they've got guns. I think you've seen too many Hollywood movies. We are staying put."
I strongly recommend the entire article. A great read for the long slow summer.
