The Michigan coaching staff has offered another 2016 QB prospect in Shea Patterson. Patterson is currently committed to Arizona, but told me that he is open to anything.
Patterson called the Michigan offer, a "big one" with a laugh. The rest of his offer list is very impressive so calling MIchigan a big offer is a good indication of what he thinks of the Wolverines.
Coach Jackson went down to Shreveport a couple of weeks ago to watch Patterson throw, a session that Shea described as very sharp, and after some discussion with Coach Nuss an offer was extended tonight. Shea received the offer personally from Coach Nuss over the phone.
Patterson says he will visit Michigan within the next few weeks.
I hope to have more from Shea tomorrow.
Patterson is the fifth quarterback in the class of 2016 to receive an offer joining Dwayne Haskins, Malik Henry, KJ Costello, and Jacob Eason.
2015 DE/DT Darian Roseboro and I exchanged a few messages tonight and I just thought I'd pass along what he said.
He says that right now Michigan is even will all of the other schools that make up his top group (Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Duke, Michigan, NC State, North Carolina, Ohio State, Tennessee).
As of right now he doesn't have any return trips planned to Ann Arbor.
He plans to announce his decision his first week back to school on August 22 at 2:30 during his pep rally in front of his entire school.
A follower asked me about Roseboro on Twitter after my tweet saying that 2015 DE Clelin Ferrell will be announcing his decision tomorrow. All signs point to it being someone other than Michigan, probably Clemson.
Slow day on the boards. Anyway, I hate this time of year and waiting for college football, but here is a post from a Rivals board that is getting a lot of debate. Early sesaon predictions. Everyone is responding about the ND, Rutgers, PSU & NW results. It seems like those are the swing games. I think we go at least 3-1 against that group! Mich 35 App St 10; Mich 24 ND 27; Mich 42 Miami OH 10; Mich 31 Utah 17; Mich 34 Minny 21; Mich 27 Rutgers 20; Mich 24 PSU 28; Mich 21 MSU 24; Mich 38 Ind 21; Mich 24 NW 17; Mich 35 MD 24; Mich 20 OSU 31. How many days away before I get to tailgate at AAGO???!!!
This is more of a question for Brian (or the powers that be) regarding "The Blog," but I figured the back and forth of a forum might be more interesting than simply dropping this into the mail bag.
It's starting to become quite clear that the Athletic Department is facing an interesting set of challenges at the moment, especially within the context of Michigan Football. Efforts to embolden the University of Michigan brand and foster better relations among student ticket holders haven't met great success. Home scheduling match-ups have become lackluster at best, and combined with our recent on-field performance ticket sales are waning.
Throughout the years that I've followed this site, I know that at critical junctures MGoblog has been slowed to a literal standstill due to crippling amounts of traffic from fans and readers. I'm wondering how readership has been as of recent, and if recent moves by the AD that have diminished ticket sales have also resulted in less traffic at the site. This was prompted by the most recent kickstarter for HTTV; I may be wrong but I can't seem to remember previous campaigns going this "deep" into the fundraising cycle.
Hail to the Victors has been funded for the third straight year!
This calls for a POSBANG!!!!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU ALL!!!
Thank you everybody!
And thank you DraftSteet for coming through on the shipping to make it more worthwhile for people!
Here's another preview:
