that is nice bonus change
So, today we found out that we're having a boy, which I'm totally stoked about. I would have been thrilled with a girl too, but it's our first child, so naturally I wanted a boy first. The great part is, that during the game Saturday night, my wife (A Notre Dame grad) made a bet with m.e After Notre Dame scored the go ahead touchdown with some thirty odd seconds left, I said Michigan still had time to at least tie this game. So high in her revelry was she, she told me that if by "some miracle" Michigan won, I could decorate the baby room any way I so chose, boy or girl. I had been jokingly threatening to decorate the room in Michigan colors and such even if it were a girl for months. The topper, was that I had made a comment that I was going to make a Bo Schembechler baby mobile above her crib. That every time it spinned, it says "The Team, The Team, The Team". Having no clue if something like that were even possible, she agreed. Turns out it is possible! I have a few engineering friends that I graduated with from Michigan that say it's easily doable. All we have to do, is find little stuffed toy heads of Bo, which aren't easy to find, but I'm sure we can do something.
Her face when Michigan scored was one of biblical hatred, Which was made it even better, when my friend informed her that the Bo Schembechler baby mobile was indeed possible. Her only consolation is that I told her I wouldn't hang a picture of The General, with the caption "To Hell With Notre Dame" at the bottom.Glorious night, Go Blue!
My main point is Denard will significantly improve in this system when we have a consistent RB. Fitz is the answer here. Smith is a help here too. Saturday Hopkins played his way out of the rotation hopefully. Mike Shaw had 2 carries for -3 yards. We converted 5 third downs rushing vs. 10 third downs passing.
Denard had 16 carries on Saturday. Let’s give Fitz a few games with 15-20 carries, Smith-5 carries or passes, and Denard 15. If other teams stack the box like ND did, we will continue to hit the deep ball with #21, #10, and #12.
Any M fan that’s crying for Gardner over Denard needs to rewatch the final 2 minutes of the game and shut their yapper (Matt Foley can motivate them to do this). These are the same idiots who wanted young Mallett in over upperclassman Henne vs. App State-ignorance blames the QB rather than the complexity that is the team.
The only thing I want to compare this year to the last three is our record on the field and the number of recruits we’re gaining w O-state offers. As of now we’re 2-0 with a top ten recruiting class. #28, #2, and the OL will step up and help #16 as he leads this team to 9-10 wins with both his legs and arm like he did on Saturday.
According to several teammates, Denard Robinson now has a Twitter account. There have been several fakes in the past, but the first tweet from "DenardX" is apparently Cam Gordon saying Denard doesn't know what to tweet, which is completely believable. Certainly seems worth a follow.
This has been mentioned on the board, but I don't think anyone has isolated the video in a thread. I saw it last night on the BTN replay and couldn't believe my eyes. Want to see where our 5 star DT has been hiding? He was just waiting for 3rd & 1 under the lights.
Irish has #75 Taylor Dever (senior) as a fairly decent player, especially against the run. Not here. Campbell stays low, explodes through him, and bends him over backwards. The guy has no chance, and doesn't know what hit him. Ryan makes a great play and the entire defense is WIN (Demens was going to blow this RB to pieces if Ryan doesn't tackle), but this post isn't about them.
Our man starts low, stays low, and keeps his legs driving, depositing the RT 3 yards in a heap in the ND backfield. Yes it's one play and all the other caveats. But this is what all that potential with BWC is talking about. Would be great if it came together in the next few weeks.

(sorry for the lame link, embedding didn't work out for me here. Additional attempts will be made, but start it at 8:10)
A ND blog framed out the UTL victory as if it were a Dora the Explorer episode. I have a six year old nephew and have seen plenty of Dora. This made me LOL.
[Ed: Bump. I am not entirely sure I want to ride again. A nice, relaxing weekend against Eastern sounds pretty good right about now.]
I wanna ride again!
Words can't describe it
So here's a graph:
This is a graph of what I thought our chances of winning were throughout the game. That really erratic part at the end is the reason why my neighbors knew I was watching a sporting event.
I don't really know what to say that hasn't already been said, and I don't know where to start. All I know is that it was amazing, and horrifying, and awesome, and I wish I had been there. So I guess I'll just start at the beginning.
Buckle in kids, this is going to be a long ride (warning some NSFW language).
Maybe? I don't know. Home field, under the lights, Brady Hoke's Magical Golden Poop. So what if they got higher rated recruits and have had an extra year of experience in that system. We got Denard and Mattison, so the defense CAN'T POSSIBLY be as bad as last year. With so many unknowns, it might as well be a coin toss, but vegas favored ND. Vegas is almost always wrong in this series.
Three and out on the opening drive, no reason to panic yet.
Desmond Morgan didn't look very good early. He started the game with 2 missed tackles in 2 plays
[Ed-M: We're doing more breaks so you don't have to scroll so much. Much more after the jump]
