Niko Porikos grew up in an NTDP billet home. Cool story.
A friend and I were commiserating about the 'Bama loss via email, then the conversation turned to this:
[Perenial rant about how we are becoming Notre Dame and how I am powerless to stop it]... However, DO NOT underestimate The Beard.
Yes, it would be a mistake to underestimate Mealer and His Beard. ElliotMealersBeard.com is available. It is yours for the taking.
$8 later, done. What to do with it now?
You don't "do" anything with ElliotMealersBeard.com. It grows on its own.
But seriously, what do I do with ElliotMealersBeard.com? I don't really have the time or creativity to give The Beard it's full due, and I'd hate to see it linger, like a dead folicle on a less manly man's face. So sad.
Right now, as you can see, I just have it set up as a Tumblr, with a photo that I think really gives you an idea of the inherent power of The Beard and it's potential. What could you do with That Beard? Please tell me how you would make it grow. Right down there in the comments.
Act quick, before Gilette gives him a million dollars to shave it on live TV at halftime of the championship game, in which we certainly will not be playing.
The title says it all. Various internet outlets have said he was healthy yet didn't travel with the team but little other info has come out since. I didn't see anything on the board about it nor have I read any remarks from the coaching staff. Is this related to his incident in April for which he was later cleared? His presence would not have made a difference but he could still prove to be a solid contributor for this team. Does anyone have any insight into why he was left home?
Troy Calhoun kept Michigan ranked as number 9th in the Coaches' Poll this week. I wonder if he is using it as a motivational tool for the game. I also wonder if we deserve a ranking at number 9.
If I had a vote and;
1)If voting is based off of where a team should currently be ranked I would say that we do not deserve a ranking as high as nine.
2)If voting is based off of where you hope that a team is ranked at the end of the season, than I think we most certainly do deserve a nine.
With the #47 making it's first appearance on a Michigan Football field since 1927, the opening year of Michigan Stadium, MVictors caught up with Bennie Oosterbaan's godson. Really cool article. He was given the game ball of the 1958 Michigan-minnesota game as a Christmas gift to his Godson, Ben McCready (named after Bennie Oosterbaan). It was a game played on 10/25/1958 and it happened to the game ball from Coach Oosterbaan's last victory.
I'm really glad they are honoring Bennie and keeping his legacy and memory alive. Despite the criticisms about the patch "cluttering the jersey", this is a great way to keep fans educated about great players from the past.
