further adventures in Jed York being unsuited for his position
How are you dealing with your grief?
What happened today is depressing. My solution is to work out. Maybe do some cardio, watching Chizik get embarassed for the last time (guilty pleasure).
Finish work out in time to hopefully watch USC beat Notre Dame. It would make me feel better.
It's the best I can do.
This day can be depressing. Good luck coping everyone.
Defend Al Borges?
Well I guess I kind of did.
Lost all MgoPoints.
Jim Delany is still terrible.
Rutgers lost today, 27-6 to a terrible Pittsburgh team.
Maryland is up at the half, but they are still a 4-7 team.
You suck, Jim Delany.
Jim Delany killed iCarly, and I don't even know what an iCarly is. Maybe it's a prototype human robot, probably created with Michigan research. But Jim Delany killed it.
Why was Michigan/Ohio State at noon? Why was it not at 3:30?
Was it to keep Ohio State fans off the streets after sunset, a likely story?
Or was it to play The Game before Al Borges woke up? Well, trick question, Al DID wake up. Before falling asleep again, but he's on to you, Jim Delany.
Because who scheduled this Game for noon? Jim Delany.
If Jim Delany were a kitchen utensil, he would be a sieve. Because it's all your fault, Jim Delany. All your fault.
We want moooooore goals.
EDIT: as per everything Jim Delany, this post is sponsored by Barbasol, avocados, and Generic Farm Implements.
After a long day of using your Generic Farm Implements, why not kick back with a shave and some avocaodes? Or why not farm some avocadoes, then shave? You could even shave your cattle, feed them avocadoes, and then ride around on your farm implements. The combinations truly are endless.
But no matter how many variables and things you throw in, make sure to divide them with Michigan and Ohio State in separate groups. Thank you.
We will return to "Big Ten Icons: Tom Osbourne" in a second.
The Second Half Al Borges called was the worst half I have seen since ThreetSheriDammit. Not only that but he has continually shown an inability to learn from previous mistakes to the point where his arrogance seems to get the best of him consistently. I am furious at today and would not be completely opposed to Hoke firing him.
HOWEVA, we have known from day one the personnel Hoke an Co. inherited is much different from the personnel they hope to build around. It has been very frustrating this season, watch them try and force the O-Line to do things they are not naturally good at. It was extremely frustrating to see the mismanagement of the running game. But at this point, we are entering next year with Devin Gardner as the starter. We are seeing a lot of young, talented O-Linemen come in to the rotation and starting lineup, players recruited by this staff to be able to fit intended schemes.
At this point, I am calling for a little sense to trust Hoke with this decision. Remember where we were a few years ago? Our roster still was not very complete this year. Certainly not as talented as Ohio.
I am pissed at what happened in that second half, but would firing Borges really do anything but potentially stall growth in the transitioning offense? I am concerned about Borges' stubbornness but this team can be close by staying the course. So...perhaps calm down.
(EDIT: Point taken. Delete Thread, Please. Thought every thread started with "FIRE BORGES etc." and mistook this for being different.)
This boy is honestly trash...we did not get a single 3rd and short all game, because he is so incompetent with regards to the playbook. Fire him, get a new offensive coordinator and we will be much better. I don't care what people say "ohhhh we don't have a quarterback who can run the west-coast offense...blah blah blah". Just follow what Rich Rod did with mobile QB's and do the same thing. If it wasn't for our defense today, we honestly should have lost by 20. I am thoroughly disappointed with our play calling, and if it doesn't get fixed before bowl game time, we are going to get demolished by any SEC team. Everytime Denard has the ball, the other team KNOWS we are running it either with him or our RB, and obviously just needs to crash the box. If you don't play Devin and Denard together at the same time, it's not going to work. I am sorry for being harsh, but in the first half Devin was playing well, and wish we just stuck with him for the rest of the game. Sorry seniors, your boy Al Borges straight up gave the game away for you. Al has till Jan 1st to fix his play calling, when we play in Capital One bowl.
I am the biggest baby when it comes to losing to Ohio. Now, I am channeling my energy in getting blind drunk and rooting for the Gophers. Today will not be a complete loss if Sparty is home for the holidays (with the Buckeyes).
