go go go
A couple weeks ago, I put together a google map with all of the Michigan bars I'm aware of (and also everything from the spreadsheet that bouje has been maintaining.) The map is here.
Hopefully this will prevent the "where's the Michigan bar in Pittsburgh/Fresno/Topeka/wherever" threads that pop up every week, but if your favorite gameday hangout isn't on here, put it in the thread and let me know. I'll do my best to keep the map up to date.
Who is the guy you want as the next head coach who is not named Harbaugh or Kevin Sumlin.
I've talked myself into it.....
We had one last week
Thought it couldn't get much worse
I guess I was wrong....

First let me begin by saying nobody is more angry and frustrated at the current state of the football program than I..Im pissed
Ive had some time to think about it and I think we should all a take a step back, gather our breath and think.
First lets tackle Dave Brandon. Im starting to think that people are forgetting some of the good things hes done. He has upgraded MANY facilities and athletic buildings making Michigan probably the best in the nation. Hes setting the foundation for all of our athletic teams to be HIGHLY Successfull.
Hes always had a budget surplus which allows him to do the upgrades we all want.( I) know the issue here tkt prices etc..that can be fixed)
Hes put our athletic teams in Highly visible national events...ie Vs Alalbama in Arlington, Outdoor hockey games and BB in quality tournaments etc etc..Isnt that what we want?
Look at his non conference schedule in the future? Didnt we beg him to get some marquee teams on the schedule..Ummm? Texas, Oklahoma, UCLA, Washington, Arkansas just to name a few.He listened
He has some hot young coaches in baseball and soccer, womens bb and others. and he gives them time to imporve and be nationally relevant and if they dont he replaces them..Isnt that waht we want?
Has he made some mistakes..YOU BETCHA ..but we all do its not like we are all perfect 100 percent of them time at our jobs? Should you be fired ? His successes speak for them selves. Right now football is in a deep deep hole..As much as I really like Brady Hoke Im beginning to have serious doubts..Im not however quite sure firing him would be in our long term interests..Why is everyone always so quick to call for somene to be fired over things,,
Does it make us feel good about our lives? just curious
I for one dont think for ONE SECOND he knowingly put Morris back in if he knew what was going on. I think its entirely possible he was focused on something entirely different. I think hes earned the benefit of doubt on that one.
So there you have it..at first my gut reaction was fire them both...said so on here..but Im willing to admit Ive had a slight change of heart. All these protests and negative publicity over them are really hurting but some of it is self-induced.
Of course the media loves to take a story like this Big time , a well known blue blood school with all this drama.and as you have seen they are like a dog with a bone on this.
Are we over reacting a bit? Im starting to think so
Thanks for listening
I'm re-posting this to keep it on the MGoBoard because I find it important, and for some reason it hasn't been pinned to the site banner yet. Maybe it will mean nothing, but this kind of stuff is all many of us have to express discontent and disgust with the leadership of the athletic department, especially for those who do not want to resort to boycotts for the players' sakes.
ALUMNI - you can sign it too. You don't even have to remember your unique name.
Follow the 'Login' link and click the 'Create a Login ID Now' on the left hand side, click 'create uniquname', and follow the instructions. I haven't used my umich login in 7 years, and it took me literally 87 seconds to recover it and reset a password. Just need your name, birthdate, year of first UM degree, and last four of your SSN. Theoretically it also allows you to create a login ID for those who were alumni before the advent of the uniquenames. Haven't tired it myself, but saw a '91 grad say they could sign.
After talking with knowledgeable people, I am more convinced that Brady Hoke will survive the season, and less convinced Dave Brandon will.— John U. Bacon (@Johnubacon) October 1, 2014
Of course, there's always the Brandon Exception: He might decide to depart on his own. Still more questions than answers, however. We'll see— John U. Bacon (@Johnubacon) October 1, 2014
To clarify, as things now stand, I believe UM's Hoke will remain and be evaluated in December. Brandon's future less certain.— John U. Bacon (@Johnubacon) October 1, 2014
