the season has truly begun now
A couple weeks ago, I put together a google map with all of the Michigan bars I'm aware of (and also everything from the spreadsheet that bouje has been maintaining.) The map is here.
Hopefully this will prevent the "where's the Michigan bar in Pittsburgh/Fresno/Topeka/wherever" threads that pop up every week, but if your favorite gameday hangout isn't on here, put it in the thread and let me know. I'll do my best to keep the map up to date.
B1G has two games tonight and both ended victoriously. Minnesota did not look all that impressive (and barely threw to Maxxxx Williams) but they did eventually blow out their opponent.
Rutgers looked much better than i expected. Nova played pretty well and they look to have a legitimate player int RB Paul James. They are typically the team to muff a punt late to lose a game, not capatalize on one which is a nice change for them. Hopefully the B1G continues its unbeaten streak through Saturday.
These videos will help you get into the spirit. Other people posting their personal favorites would be appropriate.
And a wider celebration of this magnificent sport, courtesy of this blog's counterpart elevenwarriors:
For the glory and fame. We cheer them again. Go Blue.
For those of us on the east coast it is now past midnight, which means there is...
... day until Michigan football! It is now gameday eve Mgobloggers!
Fitz hadn't seen much preseason action and has generally been projected as the odd RB out for the Ravens final roster, but with more than a quarter left in tonight's game, he has 10 carries for 76 yards (and one catch for 9). He also just had a 15-yard negated by a holding penalty, which would have pushed his yards per carry over 9 for the game.
If he does make the roster, he might get a decent amount of work in the first few games of the regular season with Pierce coming off a couple injuries and Rice suspended. If not, tonight's game should at least get him some looks from other teams. Either way, good for him after dealing with the broken leg and last seson's OL issues.
