Mason NEEDS this, Pistons, after all you've put him through
A couple weeks ago, I put together a google map with all of the Michigan bars I'm aware of (and also everything from the spreadsheet that bouje has been maintaining.) The map is here.
Hopefully this will prevent the "where's the Michigan bar in Pittsburgh/Fresno/Topeka/wherever" threads that pop up every week, but if your favorite gameday hangout isn't on here, put it in the thread and let me know. I'll do my best to keep the map up to date.
In effort to totally piss off Brian, Hoke announces Gardner "might" start if season started tomorrow
He said Shane Morris has closed the gap this spring and it will be "pretty exciting to hear what they did this summer.
I'm not buying it, however if Morris does start I will assume he has become one hell of a quarterback.
An email I received in my inbox this afternoon piqued my interest. Let's look at how many emails I have received as a student urging me to buy student football season tickets, shall we?
|Year||# of emails|
Hmmm. This year's home slate, the $295 price tag, and the stadium experience is proving a hard sell to many students, eh? For those interested, here's the email some students received today (note this is the first time they've ever extended the deadline to my/my friends' knowledge):
Thank you for being a Michigan Football SuperFan! According to our scanned data, you attended 5 or more home football games on-time last season (prior to or at kickoff). As a result, you have been granted SuperFan priority for the 2014 season.
Earlier this week (Tuesday, April 15) was the deadline to renew your season tickets for the 2014 season. However, since you have proven your loyalty this past season, we would like to offer a one-time extension of the season ticket renewal deadline in order for you to continue your devotion as a Michigan Football Superfan.
We know you are busy closing out the Spring semester and may have questions regarding the new seating policy for the 2014 season. By extending the renewal deadline to Friday, April 25, we hope you are now able to guarantee your seat as a Michigan Football Student Season Ticket Holder.
Is anyone else having a tough time concentrating on the threads and posts? I understand the need to generate revenue and please know this is hardly a complaint however for the first time my wife went Mrs. Stephen R Kass and took notice of the blog...http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/simgad/9769656891141381534

Slow day got me to thinking about the aftermath of the 1997 National Championship season.
I was an undecided LSA sophomore that glorious year and my memories of most of the games are vivid, but much less vivid are my memories of the "official" celebration when students returned to campus. Quite frankly, the night of the rally at Crisler I remember being so blitzed on Aftershock (yes, I know, not very masculine of me....but I WAS just a sophomore and the rock candy in the bottle was pretty damn good) that my ONLY memory of the actual event was walking there with a group of my buddies and being incredulous that a guy was selling unofficial national championship tee-shirts at the corner of Hoover and Greene for the price of 3 shirts for 5 dollars. "How could that man have been turning a profit", I asked....nobody answered.
From that point on I think I was awake but incoherent. Anyone have any memories from the rally to help allow me to patch in that gap in my fanhood?
