he grew a beard
A couple weeks ago, I put together a google map with all of the Michigan bars I'm aware of (and also everything from the spreadsheet that bouje has been maintaining.) The map is here.
Hopefully this will prevent the "where's the Michigan bar in Pittsburgh/Fresno/Topeka/wherever" threads that pop up every week, but if your favorite gameday hangout isn't on here, put it in the thread and let me know. I'll do my best to keep the map up to date.
With all the talk about imbalance between academics and athletics it appears Ivy league schools are trending toward wanting excellence in sports. Here is an interesting article in the WSJ today. What I found irritating is the article refers only to Stanford and Notre Dame in discussing excellence in academic reputation and athletics.
John U. Bacon on WTKA this morning:
- The new coach won't be another RichRod (an outsider).
- The new coach won't be another Hoke (a mid-level relative unknown who does have Michigan ties).
- The new coach WILL be one of the 4-5 names that won't go away: Jim Harbaugh, Les Miles, etc.
He claims no inside knowledge - these are just gut feelings. Nothing new really, but when JUB speaks, it's always worth a thread.
The Raiders put a mike on Chuck last night. Man, the guy still has some serious passion for the game.
Last night, someone posted about Charles creating the 50/20 Club - over 50 interceptions and 20 sacks. He is the founding member.
In New Orleans for work and the hotel only has BTN in SD, the bball game tonight was almost unwatchable....any suggestions out there from the MGoFaithful would be greatly appreciated!
Charles Woodson notched his 20th career sack tonight making him the 1st player in NFL history to have 50+ career interceptions (58) and 20 career sacks. Only one other player is even in the 40/20 club: Ronde Barber with 47 INTs and 28 sacks.
