this week in unintentionally grim-sounding recruiting headlines
Someone from UMHoops brought this info up in the forum which can be found here: http://forum.umhoops.com/discussion/1054/tidbits-from-michigan-assistant-coaches-on-wtka-with-webb
Interesting that DJ Wilson may see time at the wing and center. Good to see him gain 35 lbs since HS which is a ton, but good to fill out his skinny frame. That's a lot of weight gain in less than one year.
Duncan Robinson on the radar to break Nik Stauskas shooting drill record. If true, he could be a huge weapon coming off the bench as a shooter for 2015-2016 season.
The future for Michigan basketball is indeed bright. My expectation is top 3 in B1G and Sweet 16 run which shouldn't be unrealistic IMO.
I cant take anymore Brandon threads!! With all the negativity surrounding football i thought id change the mood. Bleacher report posted an interesting read on Michigan Basketball and the expectations surrounding each individual player. For those you who dont feel like reading heres a summary. Not football related, so if this is inappropriate - mods please feel free to destroy this thread. Just needed something else to occupy my time besides
FIRE BRANDON! FIREHOKE!!! BURN IT DOWN!!! Michigan Football.
Nik Stauska seems to be doing pretty well in the preseason, but he recently made waves by saying:
“I understand that I’m a rookie and I’m white, so people are going to attack me at all times,”
This seems to follow the theme that Nik is "just a shooter" and not much else.
While the article speaks to Nik's defensive deficiencies - they also highlight the truth of Stauskas' statement:
From playgrounds through AAU to the NBA, "Everybody wanted to play the white kid" has been an understood and unspoken truth for long enough that the only really surprising part about this is that Stauskas actually said it.
Nik Stauskas. Keepin' it real.
Only 35 Days you guys.
No writeups are available yet, but I figured that the board could use a break from CONCUSSIONGATE 2014 and the coaching search.
Stauskas dropped 12 points in 26 minutes and was 2-5 from behind three point range. Stats embeded for the board. http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/2991042/nik-stauskas
