Per Dylan Burkhardt, Spike is planning on signing with Michigan on Friday.
This is the first part of the three video series of Spike Albrecht's game against Mitch McGary's team. Highlight does not tell you much in terms of scouting, but a full game (or preferably multiple games) tells you a much better story on a player's ability. You can find the rest of the games by clicking on the video and there are 2 videos of the same game on the playlist.
My impression on Albrecht:
He's a true PG who can handle the ball, but will never wow you athletically. However, he is smart and crafty player who change gears all throughout the game which makes him deceptively quicker than he really is. Spike was able to get into the lane against an atheltic Brewster team with ease and finding open players for an easy buckets. Spike showed good court vision and make a few impressive passes. He has good shooting form and can make 3 pointers if needed, but he's a pass first PG. He will never be a great defensive player but he can be at least an adequate defender in the next level. He's not a real big PG and will have trouble guarding bigger PG. I'm curious how he'll fare against hard hedge because Burke has really struggled against hard hedge.
How he fit with JB's offensive system and next year's team:
I can see why JB likes Spike and he fits his system to a tee. He is a smart player who certainly can pick up the system quickly and make an impact as a passer. He compliments with the rest of the players on the roster and will make THJ and Morgan's live a lot easier on the recieving end of his passes. He played in the same AAU team as GRIII and McGary so there are familarities between the three of them. I have no problem with JB offering Albrecht and I expect Albrecht to commit to Michigan during official visit, if not soon after the visit. If Burke comes back, Albrecht would be a quality backup PG and can spell Burke. The good thing is Albrecht has played against tough competition in prep school league and would be more mature mentally and physically than your typical freshmen.

Given all the melt down about the Burke (as of yet, no decision), I thought this article was appropriate. Interesting view from the other side.
Beilein said the following re: Burke:
First, I would like to note that Wednesday's reports of Trey Burke's decision to enter the NBA draft were premature.
My coaching staff and I have met with Trey and his parents several times over the past two weeks. Collectively, we have gathered and shared with each of them some necessary information that we feel will help Trey make the most informed decision for his future.
The Burke family has been very receptive to our assistance and appreciates that we have encouraged Trey to take his time and look at all of his options between now and the April 10 deadline.
With only one full week of classes remaining, Trey and his teammates, like all students at Michigan, are working diligently to complete their assignments and prepare for final exams.
Well, a few hours ago Brian posted on Twitter according to a source that Trey was having a change of heart and also the Free Press shared the same story. Apparently in the last hour or so on twitter, pictures of Trey Burke's dorm room have been posted and unfortunately all his bags have been packed. I think it is safe to say he is gone.
