Michigan tipped off the season with a 92-68 victory over Hillsdale. For those who missed the game. Enjoy GOB LUE!!!
The NBA D-League season starts this week. I just scoured every roster, and only one former Wolverine is there: Manny Harris is a member of the Los Angeles D-Fenders.
But you'll find plenty of OSU and MSU players in the D-League. Ex-Spartans Kalin Lucas, Keith Appling and Durrell Summers are all in the D-League, as are OSU's William Buford, Lenzelle Smith and (yes!) Aaron Craft.
Moral of the story: Beilein is putting guys into the NBA, while Izzo and Matta are putting players into the D-League.
I know there's a ton of differences and I'll be honestly, I was not really in tune to M basketball when Crawford was here....BUT after remembering threads about comparing Caris' game to other players last year and then seeing a Crawford highlight video, their games seem very similar.
Thoughts? I just want to talk about basketball and I think Caris is about to blow up!
I'll let others take care of the embedding for me if anyone cares, but this is the highlight video of Crawford I was watching. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8b-m0CZwS3g
The shot across UNC's bow has been fired by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges accrediting agency.
The public university could face warnings or probation as a result of the academic fraud findings, which showed student-athletes accounted for nearly half of enrollments in "irregular classes" over an 18-year period.
But the school is unlikely to lose its membership in the group, said Belle Wheelan, president of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
"We don't just drop schools," she said. "We give them time to fix things that are wrong first."
The possibility was first raised at mgoblog.com in an October 29 post:
Does Roy Williams and/or Larry Fedora get fired over this?
Note: I don't think this is OT as it surely will be a consideration in President Schlissel's pursuit of an Athletic Director.
