well that's just, like, your opinion, man
espn's weekly rookie rankings have trey #3 and THJ # 4.
insider, unfortunatley: http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/players/rookies/rankings
but the top 10 is:
- Steve Adams
- Nate Wolters
others of note - 12. McLemore; 18. Zeller; 40. glen rice jr.; 42 alex len; 44. Shabazz Muhammad
Don't know if this is thread worthy but they have been playing much better than expected this early in their NBA career's. Attached are Tim's Highlight's and a few of Trey's better games. Hope to see much more of this for years to come!
The new AP Poll has us leaving the top 25 (deservedly) and our next opponent, Arizona, taking the top spot. If Arizona can handle their business on Wed night, we'll have a shot at the number 1 team in the land on our home floor. Hopefully, we can figure out our Trey-less half court offense. Great time for a signature win. Go Blue!
Randomly putzing around on the YouTubes, I came across this. This is awesome material, not just for the video breakdown but also because the guy drew up all the play diagrams as well (link below). Must see stuff for those that like to breakdown basketball the way many breakdown football on this site (Also, for those who, in your weakest moments, say "OMG BEELINE DOESN'T RUN AN OFFENSE, THEY JUST PASS THE BALL AROUND." I keed, I keed.)
PDF of the play diagrams:
Very cool stuff and some of it gets kinda complicated. And, note this is just stuff JB has run against the 2-3, which is probably the least common defense you see at the college level. I'd be interested in seeing which of this stuff they also try to implement against the 1-3-1. Makes me want to go back and watch some of the games against Matta's 1-3-1.
Edited to make comment meant to be in jest more in jest.
“We’re soft,” McGary said following the 79-69 loss that wasn’t quite as close as the score indicated. “We’re soft right now. That’s it.”
One such player is talented 6-foot-6 sophomore Glenn Robinson III, who some consider a possible lottery pick. Instead, GR3 went for eight points and looked like a deer in headlights, tentative and even disinterested at times. Count me as a huge fan of Robinson’s talent and character, but he needs to be more aggressive, especially when Stauskas is attracting as much defensive attention as he received Tuesday night.
“We were rattled and didn’t have the same poise we had last year,” McGary said. “Derrick’s going to grow.”
The Wolverines are a work in progress, and that was evident Tuesday night in one of the most hostile environments in the country.
“Rome wasn’t built in a day,” McGary said.
It's a fairly long article, but those are some key quotes from it. This team has a ton of potential, so lets try and hold judgment until February or March.
13 points, 9 assists, 2 rebounds & only 1 TO against the excellent defense of the Pacers
