Hey MGoBoard...help out a Big Ten Tournament Amateur!
A few friends and I are considering a trip to Indy for the upcoming Big Ten Tourny. Unfortunately, we would only be able to make the semifinals on Saturday (March 15) and possibly the finals on Sunday.
If we were to buy tickets on Stubhub for the semifinals and finals, **putting on my best superstitious gear before saying this** and Michigan were to lose on Friday, do you think we would be able to resell the semifinal and finals tickets on Stubhub for a similar value to our original purchase? Or would we all be taking a financial hit?
Also, does anyone know of any reasonably cheap hotels near Bankers Life Fieldhouse? Are there any cheap sections in the arena that we should definitely avoid?
Print out your cards for tonight's game.
In all the J-Mo love, it got me thinking...who are the ALL-TIME JORDAN MORGAN'S?
I don't have the correct words to describe exactly what I'm looking for, but if you've watched Michigan basketball over Jordan Morgan's tenure at Michigan the past 8-9 years...you know what I mean.
Whether under appreciated or under-the-radar are the correct descriptions, I don't know. But someone who embodies the career of Morgan.
For example, in the football world. Ryan Van Bergen comes to mind. Kovacs, Heininger and Martin somewhat, but moreso RVB (if you're talking about recent guys). In basketball Zack Novak comes to mind, but I feel that's the easy answer. We need to dig deeper.
Anyway, let's hear it...who are some of your all-time J-Mo's?!
Interesting article in the NY Times about the increasing competitiveness of Ivy League basketball in programs other than Princeton and Penn:
Why is Tommy Amaker having such (relative) success in the Ivy League, so quickly? Lower overall level of competition? The increased level of talent available to Harvard (and others) since they expanded their tuition waiver policy for low-income families? Is he a very good coach, but not quite at a level needed for success in the B1G? All of the above?
Has there been a change in NCAA rules?
As recent as last year, Michigan wore Maize for big road games (sparty, IU etc.)
This season, Michigan has only worn their road Blue uniforms. I began to take notice of this after I was going to wear my Maize until I saw a photo of pregame before the UW and sparty road games.
Also, it appears that we have seen the end of the 2012-13 - 2013-14 home White unis since of the uniforms(z) announced for the postseason. After all, since Michigan has gotten adidas, their uniform design changes every 2 years.
Will be kind of strange to see Michigan wear Maize in second & third round games.
Penn State just wrapped up an incredible, high-paced game of the century (/s) in Evanston, beating Northwestern 59-32 (yikes!) Also, Iowa plays Michigan State tonight.
