Not to drive traffic away from here (as if that's possible, amirite???), but the good folks at UMHoops have just set up a new message board/forum, which is open for business. If you're looking for some dedicated basketball talk, would be worth taking a gander.
I'm not affiliated with UM Hoops at all, other than being a frequent visitor/reader and occasional commenter.
Per MLive, Conlan, a former player and the director of operations for the U of M men's basketball team, has resigned in hopes of pursuing coaching oppurtunities elswhere. The position's opening was just posted online, and there is no word on where exactly Travis is headed or possible replacements for the position. I wonder if Novak would be interested in a new job...
Today Jason Kidd announced his retirement from the NBA. Following his co-rookie of the year Grant Hill's retirement that means Juwan Howard is now the last member of the 1994 Draft that's still active.
Who knows if Juwan will play next year, but a tip o' the cap to him all the same.
I know,, who cares, but I thought it was interesting that they sold out to State Farm Insurance. As a policy holder, this bugs me a bit. Bloomington IL, corporate headquarters of State Farm, is about 52 miles northwest of Champaign. What I found even more interesting is that the renovations include adding A/C to the State Farm Center (aka Assembly Hall). I guess there will be no more confusion between U of I and IU, when it comes to basketball venues. Now, our "biggest rival" will have a nicer facility in which UM can play well and win a lot (hopefully). You may now return to DG's Tweets.
Good write up at UMHoops.com.
Sanders and his AAU teammate appear to be a package deal and UofM is among a handful of schools already in on these two. Looks like Sanders has good things to say about the staff, program and academics. But man...what a highlight video!
He looks very charismatic compared to Burke and Morris who were more stoic. I like the swagger.
Long Beach (Calif.) Poly has produced a number of outstanding talents over the years, 6-7 wing Kameron Chatman among the latest. Rivals.com's No. 39 player in the 2014 class has picked up interest from schools nationwide - this weekend he'll very possibly receive a Michigan offer when he visits Ann Arbor for the first time.
