The loss to NJIT dropped Michigan from the rankings this week:
Edit: Wisconsin #5 (AP), #6 USA; OSU #12 in both; MSU NR (AP), #23 USA; Illinois NR (AP), #25 USA
I brought my five year old daughter (father daughter trip) to the BB game yesterday. I bought tix on Stubhub for $7.50 each the day of the UM's public sale. Our seats were in section 220 row 6. She was attemting to shoot baskets in the Kidzone when we were awarded the Stubhub fans of the day. Thus, we got courtside seats. At the under twelve timeout we were on the videoboard.
She did not understand the magnitude of getting to sit that close. I was shaking and in tears when we got to our seats. Hope I am not the only one that crazy about my fandom. She was more interested in the cheerleaders, dancers, and band.
We will never forget our first trip to Crisler and not just because of the upset. It would have been awesome even without the upgraded seats. My daughter Riley says (despite living in Ohio), "we don't like the red team we like Michigan." She topped off her visit with a mini football, necklace, and "you wish you could shoot like girl" shirt from MDen.
I had to share this story with people that might appreciate it. It was too cool not to and I thought it would be a good thing to take our minds off of the CC and the worthless nuts getting into the CoFoPo.
Let's get some of our ANGAR out...
Thought the board could use a breath of fresh air, so I'm tossing out a name for the 2017 basketball recruiting class that many think could be an early commit for that class.
Christian David is a 6'5" Canadian (yay!) guard out of Milton, Ontario, who is tearing things up north of the border. He's rated as the No.1 Canadian prospect for 2017 and is being pursued heavily by Michigan and UConn. He's a lights-out shooter, great passer, and has a high basketball IQ (seriously, he does). Interestingly, he's also of Filipino descent and to my knowledge I don't think Michigan has ever had a Filipino basketball player (or Asian for that matter).
