Syracuse wrapped up an investigation for violations that took place between 2007-2012 and apparently involved no current student athletes. The ban includes the ACC Tournament, the NCAA Tournament and the NIT.
I am very disappointed that our basketball team will miss the opportunity to play in the postseason this year. However, I supported this decision and I believe the University is doing the right thing by acknowledging that past mistakes occurred. Our players have faced adversity and challenges before. I know they will rise to this challenge by keeping our program strong and continuing to make our University proud.
One interesting piece of trivia, this Syracuse team will be only one of three that hasn't participated in the ACC Tournament. 1961 UNC declined to play while on NCAA probation and 1991 Maryland was serving a TV ban.
The man, the myth, the legend, the aneurysm. Just a bit of fun from a little over five years ago.
After careful consideration & prayers, I have decommitted from Northwestern. I have great respect for NW and what they have done for me.— Grant Perry (@TheGrantPerry) February 3, 2015
This team fought their butts off today and I'm proud of them. No excuses and no points for moral victories, but we have something special brewing.
Here we go! 1pm on CBS
Doesn't sound like a short term thing; not only is it not a walking boot but apparently a cast.
Walton's foot was in a cast, crutches, not putting any weight on that foot. Doesn't look short-term at all.— Nick Baumgardner (@nickbaumgardner) February 1, 2015
