Mason NEEDS this, Pistons, after all you've put him through
I can't let basketball season go just yet ... Not until we know what we're looking at for next year. So, I thought of a good exercise for the die hard bball fans.
Can anyone tell how John Beilein's offense works. Is it something that is built year to year based on personnel or is he a "system man" that simply has devised a complex and effective offense. Clearly, its both. But it seems like he is more inclined to let the kids with great talent just play.
So, does he call a lot of sets during the game? And, if so how many would you say that he uses regularly? And, why is it so hard to figure out? Does he change them game to game and season to season?
I'm pretty convinced he can get an outside shooter open at will with his plays, but cold shooting often hurts our team's chances.
Between his offensive sets, and Levert and Albrechts creativity along with Zak and Derricks sharpshooting, we could be good next season.
The last of the NBA decisions and it figures to be a dousy either way. Mitch is a HUGE piece of the puzzle and his return places us back within the collegiate elite. If he goes pro it would obviously be a huge blow given the loss of Morgan and Horford already. I have nothing concrete on Mitch's decision but it seems to be trending pro-NBA based on some of the reactions of Spike at the Banquet last night and some of these new mock drafts.
A few days ago it seemed that the general concensus was that Mitch was likely to be back in the fold. The last few days have seen a sort of shift in that regard and that makes the Horford decision and the staff's seemingly relaxed big man recruiting the past few weeks a bit strange.
Does anyone have anything suggestive of how Mitch is leaning at the moment?
here are his stats:
transfer article here:
word is he is interested in michigan, iowa and two other schools. really improved his shooting this year. rebounds ok for his size. he's a bit foul prone.
I hate to keep trying to guess what Mitch is going to do - but this mock draft is bad news for us fans:
Nik at 11
Mitch at 26
Glenn at 30
If Mitch is still considerend first round material - then he has to go in my POV
Obviously there is a connection there due to his brother but it is interesting Horford is leaving one Elite 8 team for
another a Final Four team. If he does land there it would quite a landing spot in terms of basketball and we'll definitely get to see if Horford's family's view of his skill set is realistic (and by definition he was being held back by Beilein's "emphasis on guards / wings") as UF plays a more traditional brand of bball. Morgan seemed to do ok in this system last year as did Mitch but we'll see.
As far as I can tell from a couple tweets, Trey is expecting a boy in June!!!
I'm not sure who the girl is, but I have seen a few of Trey's instagram photos with who I would assume to be a girlfriend. I think with Trey Jr, Timmy Hardaway III, and GR4 leading the way, we should be able to hang some banners. Maybe Beilein's grandson(s?) will be big and strong enough from the subs by this point to contribute as well, although they made have graduated already by this point.
