So, we can't play zone defense, but we can play offense
Still second to Painter of Purdue
Why don't we play zone? Cliff notes version, our kids don't play it well enough.
Not to be outdone by the CFP Committee... now the NCAA Men's Basketball Selection Committee will do a PREVIEW of the top 16 seeds a MONTH EARLY -- subject to change based on, you know, the actual games and seasons being played out to their entirety.
Does the tourney really need MOAR buzz? Does it allow someone to play the DISRESPECT (DISRESPEKT) card (kard) a month early? If we don't care, why is OP posting this? Oops wait--!
Just a quick update on where things stand with the Men's bball team. Both CBS and ESPN updated their Bracketology sections this morning. CBS has us as a 10 seed (up from an 11 last week) and playing against Florida in Salt Lake City.
Joe Lunardi at ESPN has us as his second to last team in, playing against Pitt in the play-in game in Dayton.
Feel free to add any other updates you see on other sites (Bracket Matrix hasn't updated since Saturday morning). I think we'll make a nice jump if we can beat Indiana on Thursday!
After a game earlier in the weel where Michigan played #3 Maryland tough on the road for 3.5 quarters in a close game before succumbing, the Wolverines would fly back to Ann Arbor and then depart for Lincoln just a couple days later.
Michigan was 1-11 against Nebraska all-time heading into today's game.
Nebraska is having a really down year this season with just 5 wins overall.
We took advantage of that, and the talented Wolverine team picked apart Nebraska.
Katelynn Flaherty had another great game with 27 points, giving her 57 points THIS WEEK.
She's on pace to break the all-time program scoring record as she has 1,693 points as a Junior and is #3 on the scoring list. She's had two 30-point games this season, both against top-10 B1G teams on the road.
Nicole Munger came off the bench and had a career-high 18 points.
Head coach Kim barnes Arico scored her 99th career win at Michigan. She's already the all-time win percentage leader, and is 24 wins away from being the all-time wins leader. When she gets her 100th, she'll be only the second Michigan coach to do so (Sue Guevara leads with 123).
Michigan is now 16-5 overall and 5-2 in the B1G in 3rd place.
Only one game this upcoming week, at home against Northwestern on Wednesday. Northwestern is just behind Michigan by 0.5 games in the standings at 4-2 (15-4 overall).
Probably the best team left on Michigan's schedule, and it's at home. Would be a huge win.
Here is a basic statistical update on the current Wolverines in the NBA (specifically those who played under John Beilein).
On 1/20/17, Caris was literally perfect from the floor. 6-6 from the field, 3-3 from three, and 2-2 from the line for 17 points with an additional 6 assists.
I'm not sure how to embed in the OP so I will post Caris' highlihts and Nik's most recent dunk from the 76ers game last night vs the Hawks below.
