I did not make this headline up
This improves the record to 12-11. We have a weekend series with maryland coming up.
The baseball team opened Big Ten play with a series against Nebraska and it did not go well. Final score 14-3.
Starting pitcher Brett Adcock lasted 1.2 innings and earned 5 runs. Jaskie came on in relief and walked 3 batters, gave up 3 on 1 hit.
Hitting wasn't great. Jackson Glines went 3-5. Jake Bivens went 2-4. No other batter had more than one hit.
Up next, Nebraska. Saturday at 2.
It is almost time for the real baseball season and I note that the tigers have lost something like 6 straight games in spring training (today's 0-0 tie excepted) and the last time Verlander pitched this week he got beaten like a rented mule. As far as I can tell the tigers did 'okay' in free agency but losing scherzer, despite the money involved, still didn't help our pitching. So what are the tigers going to do this year, make the playoffs or tank? Baseball officiandos or even those that have uninformed opinions (like mine) are invited to comment.
And before anyone else posts, happy friday, second day of the NCAA tourrnament, and pre-posbang jitter bugs getting ready to fire it up in T-minus 68 minutes.....
After Michigan took game 2 yesterday 4-2 against Kansas, game 3 of the series finished today with Michigan losing 8-4.
The Jayhawk hitters got started early chasing Keith Lehmann after the 2nd. They hit the ball well with 14 hits, including 4 doubles and a HR, scoring two runs in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 8th innings.
The Wolverines had 13 hits including 3 doubles, a triple and a HR but could only manage 4 runs.
They'll face Nebraska next.
Tough game today, the Wolverines dropped their series opener at Kansas 6-5.
Catcher Kendall Patrick had a nice day with 2 RBI, Glines and Cronenworth both went 2-for-4.
