is there such a thing as an etsy genuis? if so, this is it.
I was thinking of starting a thread asking about speculation as to why the Tigers have been so dissapointing this year. That is still a good question in my opinion, but first, let's be happy about this victory! Maybe this will get the Tiggers back on track.
With all of the media attention on Fenway turning 100 years old this past weekend, Tiger Stadium also turned 100, although it is no longer around of course. What are your thoughts on Tiger Stadium? For me it was where I spent many days watching Chet Lemon or Kirk Gibson, while sitting in the outfield with my Dad.
I think it is a shame that the city does not do more to recognize the old stadium or site.
It opened the same day as Fenway, and Babe Ruth hit his 700th HR there as well...
Here are a couple of stories regarding the site, and the old Stadium:
Boos are heard at the ballpark as Inge pops out, but the Tigers take the lead 3-1.
In game 1, the Tigers are already down 8-0 at the end of the first.
Inge is an absolute disaster at 2nd; there was a ball hit to him with a man on first, he decided to try and tag the runner, it was taking too long so he threw it to first, and the throw sucked so it pulled Fielder of the bag. Should have been a double play and they got no outs.
Porcello proceeded to give up four hits in the next five batters and ended up throwing 47 pitches in just the first inning.
Jim Abbott was just on Sportscenter, talking about his new book, being raised in Flint, and growing up without a hand among other things.
Link to his new book:
said the message of his book is that we are all faced with challenges and that you can overcome those challenges.
