Tigers/Saux, let's get it on!
Fresh off a three game sweep of the Twins, a beautiful day for baseball, the Tigers got to be feeling good about themselves. The Red Sox have to remember that drubbing to begin the season at Comerica, they should be up for this one too!

M Baseball upsets Nebraska, 6-5
After going down in embarrassing fashion last night 15-2, Michigan made a 7th inning comeback to upset the cornhuskers 6-5 tonight at Ray Fisher Stadium.
This was pitcher Brandon Sinnery's final game as a Wolverine. He pitched a complete game and was mobbed at the mound when Michigan got the double play to win. In this dark period for the program, Sinnery has been the team's best pitcher. So it was nice to see him get sent off on a good note.
Michigan will face nebraska tomorrow in their season finale at Ray Fisher Stadium at 1:05pm. The game will be on MGoBlueTV and broadcast live on 1290 WLBY.
Michigan Baseball
Today Michigan dropped a 13-6 game at western. Michigan's record is now 21-32 overall, and they are 7-14 in the B1G. Michigan will face nebraska this weekend for the first time ever not at a neutral site. Be sure to come and watch the boys if you're in the A2 area, as it will be their last games of the season.
They will not qualify for the B1G Tournament for the second straight year (top 6 teams get in).
Coach Rich Maloney most certainly is on the hot seat. His contract expires after this season. What would your decision be if you were Dave Brandon?
Resume:
- 339-238 record at Michigan. Began coaching in 2003.
- 3 Big Ten Championships (2006, 2007, 2008)
- 2 Big Ten Tournament Championships (2006, 2008)
- 4th all-time in wins at Michigan
- 4 NCAA Tournament Appearances
- 1 NCAA Regional Championship (2008)
Here are the cons
- 69 losses in two seasons
- Last place finish in the B1G in 2011 and currently at 10th place in the conference
- Missing the B1G Tournament for two straight years
- Last NCAA Tournament appearance was 2008
- Swept by eastern this season in blowout games
Tigers Open Thread
The Tigers and White Sox game is underway. Right now, it isn't good for Detroit, with the Tigers going out of the first with nothing. The White Sox have their first two on base, and Dunn is at the plate with no outs. What is going on with the Tigers this year? I thought they would be better than they are.
FULL DISCLOSURE: I am a White Sox fan, growing up as a boy in Chicago. I just thought that the Tigers would be a lot better than the Sox this year, and have been pleasantly surprised that the White Sox are still hanging around. I thought for sure after last year and after the off season that the Tigers would slam Chicago. For the Sox, the fact that Peavy seems to have turned things around, and that Humber is getting it, has made a huge difference. Obviously, Adam Dunn is vastly different from last year. The Sox still don't have a closer, imhe, and the bottom half of the order isn't very good. Konerko is the only one above 300 in batting average. Well, I'll gladly take as many wins as the Sox can get.
