I know we like to only have game threads when they lose so we can bitch at Jim Leyland (I keed, I keed), but how about them Tigers?
Tied with the tribe right now in the 7th. If they pull this game out, I'm ready to give us the division.
I assume something somewhat similar could be used in other sports, such as basketball and football as well. But I found this to be pretty crazy. It looks like a video game. I'm not sure what went into setting it up, I'm guessing in baseball it's helped by things happening at fixed locations. But in football you could have something around the GL or around the basket in basketball.
Story speaks for itself
How do the MGoPeople feel about this? Can Bonderman be important for us? Or will he flop?
IMO, I think Bondo can be beneficial coming out of the bullpen, but I also don't think we will need to use him that often with Veras, especially considering how well our starters have been. However, if a starter gets in a jam, I could see Bondo coming in and I hope he can get some outs for us.
It appears the Tigs are involved in a 3 way trade, Avi Garcia goes to Chitown, Peavy goes to Boston, and Jose Iglasias comes to Detroit, per Danny Knobler on Twitter (among others). Iglacias can play SS, 2B, 3B and is hitting 330 in 200+ at bats in the Bigs. Locked in for a while, until 2019.
EDIT: appears Brayan Villarreal is also included, going to Boston
Side note - AP reports Biogenesis suspensions will be announced on Friday, Peralta to accept it.
According to the Free Press, the Tigers acquired the Houston Astros' Jose Veras for a prospect (Danry Vasquez) and a player-to-be-named. It will be nice to have
a designated closer him in that organization.
Veras has 19 saves for the Astros this season, and sports a 2.93 ERA.
[Edit - rlew correctly points out in the comments that he's not necessarily going to be a closer.]
