The Game. The Wallpaper.
Buckeyes are tough, toxic nuts (and people). The wallpaper this week features the only nutcracker strong enough to crack even the biggest buckeyes. I'm still working on a catchy name for the Harbaugh nutcracker, but it works great. Simply put a buckeye in the mouth and watch the strong jaw crush it. What should you do with cracked buckeyes? Toss 'em.
And just for fun, here's a GIF of the Harb-o-matic Buckeye Cracker 2000. #BeatOSU

Good evening, ladies and gentlement of MGoBlog.
As you may or may not have noticed, I have been absent from the wallpaper scene this year for the most part. I've been extremely busy with both work and life and haven't had some of the free-time to do wallpapers like I would like to. Well, this week I was sent to Kentucky for work and so I have had some evening free time - so you get a wallpaper from me for "The Game." Ok, enough stupid filler "me" content, and on to the wallpaper content.
I'm constantly struck by how much of Bo is in Jim Harbaugh. I think some of it is fabricated by my mind and others in the Michigan fanbase, but I also truly believe Bo had such a lasting impression on Jim that he tries hard to emulate Bo in many areas of coaching. For this week's wallpaper, I went with the sentimental approach rather than the "Beat Ohio" chest-pounding. While I love to talk trash about Ohio State, they are not who I am focusing on this week - focusing on your rival is for little brothers. I am focusing on The Game, and on Jim Harbaugh, and on Bo - all things that make Michigan that much more MICHIGAN in my mind.
There's no way I could know this, of course, but I like to think that Jim can hear his old coach giving him advice while he roams the sideline, grinning or growling, teaching or throwing things. I just imagine him hearing Bo curse when a flag is thrown, laugh at the futility of dealing with referees, and encourage his quarterback when he's down on himself - wanting to give in to doubt. I like to think that these things fuel Jim - that they give him some sort of supernatural serenity, an unnatural peace in the midst of the chaos that is gametime. I want so desperately for Bo's words to be prophetic.
"It's gonna be Michigan again...Michigan."
Damn it, Bo. We miss you. Jim misses you. This world took you away too soon. Here's to being "Michigan again." For Bo, for Jim, for the Team, and for all of us fans. I'm thankful to be a Michigan Wolverine. I'm thankful for a forum to express my unhealthy love for this game and for the Team that plays it so well. I hope you enjoy this wallpaper.
I took the snowfall as a good omen for us, and wanted to try and capture it in a wallpaper. This is the first one I came up with this morning. I may create and post more if I have the time today and later this week.
*updated with square/share format*
Sorry in advance if this post and/or links get messed up. Trying to quickly get it up at work.
Go Blue! Beat Ohio!
We need some wallpaper for #HateWeek, right? Of course.
The MSU rivalry has always been the most important rivalry to me. I live in Lansing, so many of my friends and family members are Spartans. For the last decade, it has not been very fun to live amongst the Green and White.
However, this year has been great fun. The Sparty fans in my life have been unusually quiet. It's almost as if they are sitting quietly in a burning room. Just like the famous dog from the very popular comic. That's where the idea for this wallpaper came from.
And for all your trash talking needs, here it is in comic form.
Aaaand for good measure, here's a GIF.

The inspiration for my wallpaper this week is a little bit out of left field. Some of you may be aware that Wisconsin once tried to steal the "Mitten State" slogan from Michigan. In the winter of 2011, a Wisconsin tourism campaign used the image of a mitten stretched in the shape of Wisconsin. Some Michiganders were outraged, but most thought it was hilarious.
This is not what a mitten looks like. The "thumb" is an incredibly generous interpretation of what the state actually looks like. I don't want to see the hand that fits in that mitten.
My takeaway from the situation was that Wisconsinites aren't very good at drawing hands. In fact, maybe people from Wisconin just aren't good at drawing in general. So what would it look like if the head coaches from Wisconsin and Michigan were asked to draw their respective mascots? See for yourself below.
It's time for another wallpaper!
The opponent this week is well known in the Michigan fanbase (we won't talk about why). The Buffaloes from Colorado come into the Big House this week. Before the season, this seemed like another cupcake game. It could still end up being a cupcake game, but Colorado does seem to be a little better than Hawaii and UCF.
It's time for 'ol Harbaugh and the boys to wrangle up some buffs.
This wallpaper is an edit of an old John Mix Stanley painting. He was an artist in the mid-1800's that painted a lot of of landscapes and Native Americans. This specific painting can be found in the Smithsonian.
This is one of the more difficult wallpapers I've created. I cobbled together a few photos from the MGoBlog Flickr to get Harbaugh in the right pose. Hope you enjoy it.
