"Rodrick Williams Jr.'s 10-month old, 2-foot-long savannah monitor named "Kill" gets the RB some strange looks when they go for walks together."
The season is just a few days away, which means it's time to deck out every inch of your life in Maize and Blue. Every year I like to make a few wallpapers for myself. Why should I keep them all to myself?
I'm a fan of minimal design, which I have used in all of these wallpapers. The first one is a 2D long shadow effect on the glorious Block M we all love. The second is sort of my thoughts right now. I'm sick of the analysis, the crying about App State, and all the predictions and rankings. Just win. The last one is a slight alteration to a student t-shirt design submission that didn't win last year.

Update: What the heck, here is one more
I have always been a fan of traditional, simple, and clean schedule wallpapers that can be updated with score info as the season progresses. Since I didn't run across one that fit that profile this year, I decided I'd have a go at it....
Admittedly, I'm at a toddler skill level when compared to expert designers (e.g. jonvalk) that have already posted wallpapers, but if you like a very simple look, you may have use for this.
FWIW, it is designed for my work monitors (1080x1920 vertical orientation), but if there is a size you'd like, I can try to make it for you if you let me know. Since I live in Arizona, all game times are noted in Pacific time (pre11/2) and Mountain time (post 11/2) in the first link, second link is Eastern time for all you folks closer to Ann Arbor.
Can't seem to embed the file in the message, so you can access it here:
Version with games in eastern time:
It's that time again. Wow. It's already that time again. That glorious time of year when Saturday afternoons bring bliss and heartache, elation and dismay, victory and defeat. It's time to cheer for the Champions of the West (ironically in the B1G East) and sing Hail To The Victors until our voice is gone. When do we play and to whom do we send defeat? All that and more are answered in the following wallpaper gluttony. In case you missed some of the earlier wallpapers I made in the off-season, I've included those. I hope you enjoy these as they are a labor of love for my MGoBrothers and MGoSisters. We may not always agree on everything (Is Art Deco cool? Is Hoke the man for the job?), but one thing we all can agree on is that we support our Wolverines and to hell with Ohio State.
Every year I like to make some new wallpaper for football season. I thought I would share with the rest of you.
This year I went for a minimal 2D shadow effect that can be used for any sport. Enjoy!

For those of you who enjoy rotating wallpapers during the season to
mock highlight our weekly opponents, I thought I'd submit one for Appalachian State. I hope to have a new one each Monday (yeah, I know this one is early), similar to what momuMental has done in seasons past. In my opinion, his work is second to none (if you haven't yet had the privilege, check it out) but I believe he only does wallpapers for marquee opponents now. If that's still the case, I'll continue to offer a wallpaper on Mondays. If not, I'll kindly cease and desist :-).
For the Appalachian State game, I struggled with whether to dub it "the Horror II" or not. On the one hand, it's awefully catchy and reminds us why Dave Brandon even thought this game would be mildly interesting. On the other, it seems to suggest the possibility that this year's game could have a similar outcome which... [insert curse word]. In the end, like Brandon, I went with brand recognition. Without further ado, I give you:

I know this should be a diary, but I don't want to create another diary for a new wallpaper. I'll eventually consolidate all the wallpapers into a big diary post so I'm not taking up a bunch of space, but right now I'm exhausted (got on a creative binge and couldn't stop), so I'll do that later. In the meantime, enjoy the latest fruits of my labor. I'm extremely proud of this work (all done in illustrator/photoshop - except the UM logo). I love the art deco feel and so I decided to do a cool "Metropolis"-looking wallpaper for Michigan Stadium. Let me know what you think. Constructive criticism is welcome - I know this style isn't everyone's cup of tea. Enjoy!
